Doing the happy needle in the belly dance!!!!!! 2nd fill!!

Ok... so Vandy moved offices and the xray arm finally got set up and working....  I got an appt for my fill with another doctor in the practice because mine is out of the office for a couple of weeks.

Dr. Williams is AMAZING too!!  He took so much time with me and my port!  He just talked and laughed with me (not at me! with me!)

My port is in such a position I'll always need the xray...  I quickly explained to him that I'd be fine as long as I did NOT see the needle...  I'm ok with the pain, but not seeing the needle!  It was so easy for him to hit and it really doesn't hurt!! PROMISE..

He gave me .5 cc's on top of my 3cc's from the first fill...  then I got to stand up and they put the machine around me, so I could see my port and my band!!  COOL!!!  THEN..  and yes.. just wait it gets better......

They gave me this YUCKY liquid and we got to watch it go down my esphogaus, through the port and into my tummy!!   I wanted a video.. but was afraid to ask, next time...  I'm taking my own camera in and taking the video!

Dr. Williams watched and said, let's add another .5cc's and then I got to swallow the yuck again and watch the show again!!!   I had so much fun!!!!!

When all that was over, he pulled the needle, they put the bandaid on..  and away I went..  for the great hunt of my lost car.. (I parked at the wrong door!!)

OK...  I'm having another fill under the machine on June 10th..  who wants to come and hold the video camera?? It is a really cool show!!!

SO...  to date...  I've lost 59pounds officially on Vandy's scales, and I now have 4cc's of saline in my band!!

I'm happy bandster!!!

I am really hoping that I can get it video'd.  Perhaps I can bring it for show and tell at the June support group.

You are so sweet!!!

I actually have two appts on June 10th, one at 12:00 with the nutritionist, and then I have to wait until 3:00pm to get the xray machine up and going for the fill appt.   If it wasn't for the long wait in between, I'd certainly take you up on that offer to video!!

I am going to take my video camera and see what I can do!!!!   I am so excited!!

I am still so excited for you too!  It won't be long before you are on the other side, too!  When is your appt with Dr. Houston?

Good boy, Dr. Williams!  We won't have to have his wife Lisa (on Walk from Obesity board of directors) get on to him for mistreating our Amy!  I don't know that I'll need the xray thingie, but it sure sounds fun!!!  Maybe I could beg and he could do it for fun.

I go in for my first fill on the 13th of May . . . that's really not that far away!  I'm looking forward to it and I hope the experience is half as entertaining as yours.  I'm SO taking my FlipMini cam corder with me so if something like that happens, I can tape it.  I wanna be prepared, just in case!

I might have to sneak the bus over to hang out with you in June (I'll bring the FlipMini) if I don't get to experience the xray thing myself.

I'm so tired and my brain isn't working and I pretty much think all I'm doing is repeating myself over and over, so I'll shut up now.

I'm thrilled the fill went well--let us know what the restriction feels like and how it affects how you eat.  I have none and can't wait for some.  I'm still so ravenous and tonight I went a little overboard on rotisserie chicken.  Nothing but a true sense of fullness.  No nausea or worse.  Whew.  Lesson learned for today!

Congrats again on your fill!  Wooo hooo!

It was FUN...  and the xray thing is only used on Tues and Wed afternoons.  (why my next appt is on June 10th at 3:00 and with Dr. Williams again!)  Definately take your mini just in case you get to do the xray thing, but more than likely Dr. Williams will be able to get to your pork without any trouble since he placed it!   He almost hit mine, but because it is turned he used the xray for the final push.  The fills do not hurt, I just have a needle phobia, so I don't look at the actual needle, but I watched on the screen as he pushed it into my port.

I'm not sure about restrictions yet when eating, because I've just done liquids since being home, and I'll do soft tomorrow, so I'll let you know about restrictions come Saturday/Sunday!    rostisserie chicken doesn't always set well with me, I'm glad it does with someone.

Dr. Williams was GREAT!!!

I'm definately taking my miniflip next time!!!  It was so cool, I've called my Mom and my one sister, both have just laughed at how excited I am about seeing the liquid going down and through the band..  I had so much fun today!!!!

Yippee.....I am fascinated by your fascination w/watching the big show!!!  I want you to upload the next video so we can watch it.....it's all so foreign to us-RNYers.....of course, I am so anti-watching/knowing/having any idea what was done to my insides that it was just two days ago that I actually looked at the picture (just a sketch....) of how my insides were re-routed!  What a whimp, eh?  I just needed to know that it works & that the scale is moving down!!

Speaking of that...today was really fun....I went shopping and am down four sizes and  (drum roll PLEASE!!!) was able to shop in the MISSES/JUNIORS Department!! AHHHH...I can't believe that I am so excited about buying tops that are XL or Large...there is no number in front of my "X".....I wanted to buy e'thing but kept remembering that I am losing an average of 6.5 pounds/week so clothes won't fit too long (I hope!).....then, I came home and cleared out my entire closet.....I tried on every pair of 24s, 22s, 20s & 18s (pants) and all my 3X, 2X, 1X tops went bye bye, too....I put it all in bags & it's in a huge (no pun intended) pile in my home office until I can figure out what to do w/it/find an exchange/get it on eBay.......then, I organized my closet by color (because I saw a picture of Oprah's closet one time & was so envious of how it was organized by colors instead of styles....no more "all the T-shirts" together & no more "all the capris" together.....) and now it looks so pretty.....I think I am going to substitute my food addiction for a shopping addiction!!!

BUT, this is about YOU....sorry...I just got off on my little exciting news....

I am so happy for you & your fill......and 59 pounds!!! SUPERSTAR!!!  Do you feel more restriction right after the fill...in other words, does it change how much you can eat?

GO AMY!!! xo, Micheala.
