Does anyone know if Tenn Care pays for plastic surgery after wls?  I am figuring they dont, my husband was asking me and got me to wondering. I  bet they dont cause that would be cosmetic. Anyway if anyone knows please let me know. Thanks

They wont pay for cosmetic procedures unless they are reconstructive, like after an accident. But with the right documentation, they will pay for a panniculectomy after weight loss surgery. I plan on having that taken care of.  If I need anything else done I will have to come up with the cash myself somehow.

Karen when you say with the right documentation what exactly is that. I was afraid that I would have to sell someone to get a panniculectomy.  LOL

If you have frequent rashes or skin irritations because of the over hanging skin of your abdomen, you can get those documented and that will go a long way toward getting TennCare to approve a panniculectomy. My weight loss surgeon is a general surgeon and he will remove excess skin in some cases. His office is where I got my information.
