OT: Hubby in Hospital

Asking for prayers.  Some of you know that my hubby Ron has diabetes and ulcerative colitis.  The UC has caused him to be on high doses of steroids for a few months making his diabetes much worse (which is normally in good control). Now he has a wound on his left foot and had to be admitted to the hospital today for IV antibiotics.  they have finally stopped the steroids, so hopefully this wound will have some chance to heal.  He may have to have surgical debridment on Monday.  This just not a good week for us.  First I get food poisoning at work, then this.  And, tomorrow is the anniversary of our son Matt's death.  We were supposed to go to Clingmans Dome to have a picnic and release balloons as a memorial but instead will be at the hospital.  What has happened to our life?

I am so sorry for everything you are going through and have been through.  You surely have our prayers for Ron's quick recovery.

Maybe you could reschedule the picnic & balloon release for Matt's Birthday....or another day that means something to you all as a family.  Either way, I am so sorry that your son passed away before you did.  I can't imagine anything more heartbreaking than losing a child.

Blessing....xo, Micheala.

I am so sorry hun for for all that you and your DH are going through especially near the anniversary of your son's death.I have diabetes myself and steriods or prednisone will do a number on us.I will be saying a special prayer for you and your DH.Just know that we are all here for you.Even though you will not be able to have your special picnic tommorrow in honor of your son than just know that he is looking down and smiling at you.He knows what is going on right now and he understands, but as soon as DH is fine than you can still have that picnic and release the ballons in his honor. Please let us know how he is doing and try to take care of yourself as well.I have faith that everything will be fine.

HUGS!

You know someone told me this week, (because it has been a rough week here as well) that we all go through things for a reason.   And that one day we will wake up to blessings and realize it is from the trials we have been through.    I live by the scripture verse... "This too shall pass..."  and while you and your husband has been in my thoughts, due to Matt, this week...  and then your food poisoning...  I will contine to lift up your family in my prayers, for you to have the peace in knowing...  "This too shall pass..."

May God Bless you and yours with hope and peace today, this week...  and know, even though Matt is gone, he is forever with you and one day you will see him again in our Heavenly home.

We got through the day.  Ron's foot is looking a lot better.  He is on REALLy strong doses of Vancomycin 3 x a day.  I wasn't there yet this morn when the surgeon was in but Ron said he didn't even look at his foot so I guess tomorrow when the "real" working surgeon comes on we will find out if it has to be surgically debrided or not.  The oncall internal medicine guy seem to think it would, but he's not a surgeon, so who knows.  But, it looks a ton better tonight than last night anyway.  Nancy and Bleu came by this afternoon and that really cheered Ron up.  We also had some other friends come in and tons of relatives call and facebook.  We are sorry we missed our memorial for Matt but his birthday is on May 5, so we are going to try to do something then, but doubt that Ron will be up to hiking to Clingman's Dome by then.  I had a really hard time fending off emotional eating today--I wanted every carb that I could think of.  I did pretty good though.  I did eat a bread stick, but I don't think it will kill me.  On  a good note, my daughter got a job as a paramedic with the Sevier county sheriff's department!  She is very excited!  And, they are going to pay for her to go to nursing school!

Thanx for all the prayers and the support, I really appreciate it.  This week has been rough.
