Yay! I've made it half way through my first week back at work. I am happy to say I got in both my walks yesterday, though I did have to sneak Ms. Tuesday out the door (where the other dogs didn't notice) and take her for a walk around the neighborhood to get my 10,000 steps in. I did 10,960 before I got tired of wearing my bugg and took it off.
Today's goals are the same as before. Keeping it simple in the beginning.
:: 2 x 20 minute walks
:: 10,000 strides on my pedometer
I've already done one of the walks and am up to 6000 steps. So I'm getting there. When I checked my blood sugar after this morning's walk, it was 97!!! Yahooooo!!!
What are you doing to keep active & healthy today?

I reached 11,765 steps on my pedometer....whi*****luded spending the entire day (from 9am to 8pm tonight) working in & around the yard (and making another run to the nursery & one to True Value's garden center in Franklin---drool, drool...it was wonderful---loaded tons more flowers & brought them home--)....planted lantana, more phlox, some coleus and made two mixed pots w/a bunch of pretty stuff in them.
Tomorrow....going to do my quick one mile walk in the morning & then back in the yard to plant what I didn't get to today! Next.......
Oh...and, Denise....I bet we can get at least 3,000 steps in walking around Riverbend Nursery....oooohhhh ahhhhhh....pretty things grow there!!! Plus--no sales tax & e'thing is much cheaper than HD & Lowes (although I am in their garden centers all the time, too---it's an addiction....) ....yesterday as my poor childrens' faces were pressed against the windows to make room for all the flowers I stuffed into my Expedition my oldest said, "Mommy, this is like heaven for you, isn't it?".....it cracked me up......she's a genius! xo, M.

I think we are so lucky to have had surgery in spring . . . the beautiful weather and gardening addiction (too bad I'm not very good at it) are great inspiration to start getting active and to keep me offa the couch!
I get paid a week from today. We will need to schedule our 3,000 step walk date soon thereafter! I guess I could use all the money I used to spend on food on PLANTS!!!!
Love the visual of the kiddies squished in the car!!
