Angry,Mad, and Upset
Latasha, this is awful and one heck of a bed side manner. I am not sure how I would have reacted. When I go to my cancer doctor for my checkups I noticed that I am always in the same room, it is a lower table than most that I have seen in doctors offices and I noticed when I seen in the other rooms they where the normal, pull out step up and hope you make it on the table. So one day I asked the nurse and she said that the doctor got this different table just for overweight patients. His thinking was if a patient was coming in for cancer checkups, then they should not have to worry so much about being overweight. I joke about not letting anyone else in "my" room and he replies, the way that you are shrinking, it might not be "your" room for much longer and winks.........I think that is cool.
Now on another note, back in 2004 I had to have a internal ultrasound I know TMI. I was in the ER and they had to call someone in to do it. She started and she was moving things around and looking at the screen and she said with your weight I can't tell if I am in the right spot or not and actually asked me was she in the right spot..........DUH how the heck was I suppose to know. I was so upset with the whole thing, come to find out there was so much blood, that she could not really tell what was going on, that is when they found the cancer. I had the surgery to remove "things" and I am cancer free today.
I know I am rambling on, it's just hard to explain things sometimes. I hope that you have a better experience next time, that is if you are going to stay with that doctor. I'm not sure if I would or not.
