IDGOMB, Tuesday edition, 4/21/09
* Logged 12,983 steps on my pedometer.
* Did 3 sets of 12 reps arm workout--bicepts, tris, lats, chest & shoulders---light weight--lots of reps.
* Helped my hubby on a home project he decided to to at 10am---clearing out grass around a grove of trees in the front yard, laying down 250 feet of weed screen, moving about 200 decorative rocks from where they were incorrectly dropped (ug) and putting them around the kidney-shaped masterpiece...lol, shoveling mulch onto the weed screen in the grove of trees. Heading to Riverbend Nursery & carrying 10 HUGE Azaleas in HUGE pots (one by one--they were so heavy!) onto a nursery cart & then to the vehicle.....then unloading them & carrying them (one by one) to the kidney-shaped creation my husband is working so fervently on.....(it does look good!)....planted about 10 Lantana, 10 phlox & one Mandevilla.....cleaned out the garage....then, went inside, collapsed into a hot bath & thought about how much I appreciate my husband for making dinner & giving the kiddos their baths tonight b/c I was toast and regretted doing the arm exercises this morning not knowing I would be doing so much yardwork!

I can't believe you're hauling all that stuff just a month-ish out from your slice-n-dice. Wow! It's been really hard to keep things light. I'm dying to do more yardwork. I have a 4 x 8' raised bed that is right now full of weeds. My owners' manual said nothing >10 pounds for 2 weeks. Okay, I'm past that, so can I mess around in that bed?
You should post some pictures of the kidney! I wanna see how gorgeous it is. Love gardening and even though I'm only so-so, I'm enjoying doing it more. Keeps me busy and out of the kitchen!
lol....between your pork & my kidney we sound like secret agents.....lol....life is no fun w/real names!!
I love gardening, too.....it just makes me happy. I can spend hours in the garden centers and love Riverbend Nursery in Franklin/Thompson's Station....my kiddos are little mini-gardners now, too...it's funny.....
I am getting all the flowers in today & then starting on the veggie garden next week....it is a 25 x 8 foot raised bed that needs to be tilled & fertilized, etc. so we can start planting, but gotta keep the kiddos away when I am doing the chemicles so they don't grow arms out their foreheads (although, that might make for interesting conversation...they could shake peoples' hands while holding a ball....could work!)....
lol...I am definitely feeling yesterdays craziness (by the way what the heck does IDGOB...la la la stand for?????)........so, I am taking it slower today...just going to buy more flowers.....Timbo will plant them for me.
ut oh...kids screaming...gotta run...more later...xo, M.

Okay, we'll have to plan a trip to that Riverbend Nursery. I've never been there. Droooool. Drooool. I usually impulse buy my way through Lowe's or Home Depot, but I'm trying to stop that. I'm actually trying to design what I want to do with some spaces in the yard. Come up with a plan, not resort to, Ooh! Pretty! Plus I'd like to get some more special plants you can't typically find at an average garden center. Next to the refrigerators and such.
I planted veggies last week. Most of them are in large pots. Jack literally kicked the zucchini pot off the pseudo-deck TWICE. I have no idea what issues he has with zukes. He needs help.
Now I have strawberries and miniature peach and nectarine trees with fruit on them. I also planted some seeds for cucumbers, chives, a tomato plant (already have a big plant of cherry tomatoes going), sugar snap peas and something else. I forget. Plus a bunch of herbs. I am hoping that my stamina will increase with weight loss and I won't get tired of maintaining the garden by June. HA! That's my normal M.O.
My pork say****o your kidney!
HUGS!!!

p.s. Aha! the something else was eggplant.
