It has been an interesting journey so far.
My husband was also against the surgery. I am 60 and he was very concerned for me. He went to an support group meeting with me and was convinced by all the positive stories. Especially the people who were able to get off at least some of their medication. At a little over three months, I am off of both my blood pressure pills, my blood glucose is normal, and I am hoping to get off the cholesterol meds next month!!
Just remember, this is the rest of your life!

As Beth and Scott told me last year when we met, this is a life changing event and I have tried to be ready for every change but it has been even better than I ever expected.
The folks at my church have all been wonderful and encouraging and that has been a real boost through the few rough days.

Perhaps that's how I'll look at it--I lost a 3 year old, working my way up to a 5th grader and eventually a petite high school freshman!
I'm glad all is going so well for you and you are loving the gym. I'm about to head out for a 20 minute walk and am looking forward to getting back to moving again. Especially nice when it hurts LESS to do so!
