I hope this finds everyone doing well and in a good place.

The morning is beautiful and I am so ready to store away my winter coat.

I have had only a few short moments to scan through some post. I am anxious to get caught up on what is going on with everyone. It is wonderful how each of you share the big and little things we all care about. It has been a very busy time at work. Leaves very little time to do the things I really want to do but I guess that does keep me out of trouble….

On a sadder note we lost my beloved cousin last week. He was only 43 years old. “Mike, I love you very much and this world will never be the same without you in it. You created a legacy of embracing the moments with laughter that will live through all of us.

Mike was a survivor of a CHD (Congenital Heart defect) what’s called Transposition of the Great Vessels, basically his heart was in reverse. For years Dr’s told his mom (my aunt June, (I am her mini me) and Mike that he would not live or make it through the surgeries he had, but he proved them wrong and went well passed their expected life expectancy for him. Mike loved anything to do with the Renaissance & Medieval Time period… attending Renaissance Festivals was a serious passion for Mike.  Mike loved people, he liked hearing their stories and making new friends. He had stated to Stuck in Texas just a last week that things were coming together for him to have his Weight Loss Surgery...  This is me with my Aunt June

Hi Stuck,

You know that I would never try to make you cry on purpose, well okay, one time I did but you deserved it…

It was great seeing you for one micro mini second… You give the term “drive by" a whole new meaning….

Ms. Barb is gonna be upset that she missed it.. I will have to tell her that if you snooze you looze…….

Trina, my heart goes out to you and Stuck in Texas!

To lose someone near and dear is truly a devastating thing.  And to know that he was 1 week away from a life changing event shows how short our lives really are!

Someone sent me this poem a couple of months ago, and it has forever held a place in my heart.  It is the inspiration that pushed me into slowing down...even if it's just a little!

Time is short!

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast
Time is short, the music won't last

Do you run through each day on the fly
When you ask "How are you?" do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast
Time is short, the music won't last

Ever told your child, we'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, and let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast
Time is short, the music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away...
Life is not a race,do take it slower
Hear the music, before the song is over.

Once again, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

Trina,
My dear, dear sweet friend.  I am so sorry for your loss. Spring is supposed to be a time of renewal but for some of us that is just not the case.  I am so sorry.  You and your family are in my prayers, sweet girl.
