O/T Place to stay in Sevierville
It doesnt look like I will be able to afford to take the kids to Myrtle this year, but I still want to take them somewhere, so I thought of going to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Its only about 1.5 hrs from me and would cost MUCH less and can be done in less time than a trip to SC. So....since ive only ever been there for day shopping trips, what all is there to do for kids ranging in age from 6 to 14? It will be a 2 or maybe 3 day trip TOPS on a LIMITED budget. I would also like some ideas on good but CHEAP places to stay, with a pool. If anyone has info Id appreciate it.
You can check out www.mypigeonforge.com it is full of information on everything. Hope this helps.

Just saw your post. We have stayed at several places in Pigeon forge in the past. One of our favorites is the best western Tony Inn. There is another best western almost across the street but we havent stayed there.
The tony Inn has a small indoor pool and whirlpool and a outside pool and whirlpool. The indoor was good for when the afternoon thundershowers in August would roll in for an hour or so. They dont have kitchens, but they were servings pastries and breakfast muffins and such. Get online like we do and search for great places. There is now a hotel that has alot of water features but I dont know the name of it.
In Sept, my husband and I went alone for our 25th ann. and we stayed at a cabin, but with kids, you really want to stay on the strip in Pigeon forge where there is sooo much to do.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

I would suggest the National Park Inn in Pigeon Forge. It has suites with kitchenettes which is great for making protein shakes and for kids and they are only $39.99 and night right now according to the fign outside. WonderWorks is the nest place to take kids and it is an all day adventure. The Aquarareum (sp)in Gatlinburg in also great. I always tell people that the Great Smoky Mountains are the reason the the area is here are they are free. Kids love to play in the river at the Y at the Townsend entrance to the park (ask anyone for directions, EVERY local knows the Y) Take a picnic and spend the entire day in the park. Have a good time. I just spent a week playing tourist with my nephews this week and I am worn out!
