Grrrr...Insurance

This is mostly just me getting out my frustrations.  I realize that the insurance companies make it very difficult for so many to get the surgery and I know they must be hard to work with but am I the only one who gets irritated when it seems every single person gets irritable when you bring up insurance?  If I call the hospital or the doctor's office or the insurance company they are always rude or hateful when I ask insurance questions?  Is that not what they are there for????  I mean, yesterday I called to ask a couple of general questions and you would think I asked the person on the other end of the phone to perform a dance routine!  When you are in customer service the main part of your job is dealing with the public...if you can't do that should you not look elsewhere for a job?  grrrrrrrrrrrr  I was in tears when I hung up the phone yesterday just at how rude some people can be!  Maybe I am just not strong enough to handle all of this right  now...:(

Maybe you are going to the wrong Dr's office or hospital.  I never once had anyone get snippy or rude with me throughout the entire insurance process and I had a ton of questions.

I've been wondering the same thing...I really had my heart set on this but they make me feel like I am the only one that has ever had questions...like I am just a bother...I hate to feel like that....

I agree with John. Maybe your going to the wrong place. I never once had anyone get rude with me when I had questions or just called to check on progress. And I talked to them several times a day sometimes.

Rudeness happens, unfortunately.  Sometimes folks are having a bad day, and you happen to call at the wrong time, BUT..  (and this is just my opinion)  IF they apologize, then I move on..  BUT IF it is a continued means of their communication, I start asking to speak to their supervisors.

I don't remember (and I apologize) which surgeon you are going to, but I'm thinking you were looking at Vandy?   I know some folks have had troubles with a bit of disorganization with their recent move, but the insurance ladies I worked with at Vandy were both very sweet.    I hope you are not having trouble there!

Will you be coming to the support group tonight at Cookeville Hospital?  It starts at 5:30 in the educational center!  I hope to see you there!

HUGS

No, I was thinking about Centennial but really am in the beginning stages of everything so not sure yet.  My insurance company is now reviewing my case to see if I am aproved or not.  I thought about coming to the meeting tonight but I am a very nervous person and my sister was going to come with me for the first meeting and she got really sick so I don't know if I will be there or not.  I have no idea where it is at the hospital...I get lost there lol

It is really easy to get to.  If you want to go next Tuesday.. I can meet you somewhere and you can follow me and i will go to the meeting with you.    I think Dr. Houston sometimes does the Tuesday Seminars and I know he will not mind me sitting in and listening (Heck he might even talk about me... LOL).

Send me a message if interested.
