Just wondering, not trying to be nosey....

I was just wondering who has had to go thru TennCare (BlueCare) to get approved. I was wondering how long it took and who all got approved after their first letter. Im not trying to be nosey I was just wondering.  Thanks for all the information you can give me.

I used to have  Blue Care but at the end of the process I was switched to AmeriChoice. It took a little over a week to get my approval. BlueCare, I'm told is about the same. I had it for years and then my pcp changed so I had to. The requirements for surgery are exactly the same. The only delay that could happen is if all your info wasn't sent in. Give it a week and then start checking.

I was told they had recieved everything on March 2nd but they are reviewing it. I diont know whats taking soooo long.

I don't know unless they are requesting more info from your surgeon or your pcp. During my wait, I was told by my pcp that more records were requested. I know you are anxious. I hope you hear something soon.

Thank you, I have actually got this man that works for Blue Care who has sorta took me under his wing and is trying to find out what exactly is going on. I am a little scared that I might get turned down but I don't know how. I weigh 261 I have high blood pressure, I have to take beta blockers to slow my heart down,I have a terrible back which is caused by my weight. My back surgeon told me if I would lose weight I wouldn't have to go through another back surgery and recently I have learned that I was developing RA. I am falling apart at the seams. But I'm just gonna have to wait,eventually they will give me a answer I just hope its  approval. Thanks for telling me you situation. I'm glad everything worked out so well for you. They may be looking for proof that your obesity has disabled you. Do you ever use a cane, a walker or a wheelchair? Do you need special accomodations in any way? This was a big point according to the insurance lady at my surgeon's office, proving disability. I had been using a wheelchair for several years before I applied. I will say a prayer that you get approved. Try not to think negatively.

No I only had a brace for my back, can you believie it cost over $1000.00 for it. They said it was the same thing as a body cast.  I started out with disability for epilepsy but had brain surgery that corrected that now I have disability for my back I am not able to do much at all. Again, Thanks for your prayers I do appretiate them and need them.

Hang in there. I'm sure if you qualified for disability with your back then that will be enough for TennCare. I hope you hear something soon.
