Welcome home!!!!!  Sorry to hear about the complications, but atleast you are on the other side, and while I do not know much about the type of surgery you had, I do know from mine, the difficult things get easier as my life adjusted to life after weight loss surgery!

Take care of yourself, and keep the positive attitude!

Welcome home.  I hope that you are feeling better soon.  Remember......walk...walk ...walk..sip..sip..sip.   I used to wonder exactly why it was so important, but now I know.  It actually does get better and walking and drinking as much as you can stand actually helps you heal.

Good luck and glad to have you on the losers bench!

Hey Bre---I am so happy you are home. I was released Thursday...long story, but OMG--it's 3am, I can't sleep, I am in serious pain & can't believe I am even typing right now. This IS difficult. At first I felt like the star student in the hospital...now I swear I am failing the class. I gave up trying to get protein down.....which I actually was able to drink the first day out of the hospital---then the roller coaster ride has been horrible.

I totally underestimated this ride. I am nauseous constantly....trapped gas is painful and, often, when it comes out (burp) I gag & vomit w/dry heaves (I know..TMI, right?).  Everything disgusts me....the smell of water in any form, but I know I have to sip, sip, sip & walk, walk, walk like Cathy Teal says...she is so right, but I am in so much discomfort---especially to the left of my belly button--feels like 1000 bees stinging me every time I move, cough, etc.

My  hubby has been incredible....in contact with Dr. Olsten, who just says that getting my 64oz of water in is what I need to do....I am so stressed about that I can't sleep--never mind crushing a pill & trying to take it...I just throw it up.

Okay...I am such a ray of sunshine right now I can barely stand myself...so much for funny posts from Micheala on the board....I'm now the grim reaper, I think! ug.

I am really pulling for you....I hope you feel better soon. If you need anything, let me know and maybe the ambulance that is going to end up taking me back to the hospital if I don't get this water down can swing by your place & pick you up....do we save money on a 2-for-1 ride to Centennial? LOL!

xo, Micheala.

Bre--I wish I had an answer for you. But, I have come to trust so many on this Board, and, of course Dr. Houston, Pam Davis, etc. & they all say it well.....but what a way to go through this.  Supposed'ly we won't really remember this part.....let's all pray for amnesia.

Hang in there, girly.  Micheala.

Are you feeling better? i have forced my self up and around alot this morning and I think I will just ahve to wear it off. My friend had the surgery 4 months ago and she said in the next few weeks we will be fine. I am with you on the amnesia. I will need a big dose.

Hey Bre---OMGoooodness.....what a difference....yesterday I was checking out of the hospital from my readmission....I felt SOOOOOO much better after the infection was treated.....and today was AWESOME.   I had all my protein in by 3pm & I should have 90oz of water in by the day's end....I actually drove today for the first time (but w/out my kiddos, just in case I crashed...lol).....I went shopping for two hours.  I was worn out a little bit, but not too much. Then I came home, did some light housework and feel great!!!

The more I move the better & more back to normal I feel. I keep thinking I am going to "overdo it", but I feel great....it is like day and night compared to two days ago.

I do have a stinging, burning, pulling pain to the left of my belly button---it is the muscle the cut through, I believe....last night I was reaching for the baby monitor, laying on my back and OUCH I pulled it & thought I had done something horribly wrong....I was sure I tore something.  I put an ice pack on it & took some Hydrocodone & when I woke up it was sore, but not unmanageable.  So, the pain will get better....and you will be shocked in a day or two how incredible you feel.  I can sleep on my back & right side, but still not on my left side...it hurts.

I can't believe how GREAT it feels to have kicked the sugar & caffeine habits alone.  I LOVE not craving that crap anymore....I feel like my energy is so even all day long.

I am finally at the point that I am so thankful for this surgery & over the "oh hell no, what did I do moments" (I hope)......xo, Micheala.
