Medicare-How long to surgery?

 I'm sure this has been brought up many times but I don't see a search function, and I'm just desperate...

I'm 200 lbs overweight, and my 41st bday is coming up on April 1st, and going through a mini-mid-life crisis, as I've spent all of my adult life very overweight.

I'm on medicare (not medicaid) and have heard I may have to do some 6 month weight loss prog. first but only from one source--is this true?

I've just finished looking at all of the before/after pics, and I'm in tears and burning with desire to get my life back.  I can't tell you.

So for those on medicare, how long from initial consult to surgery did it take?

Since gaining more from a med in past 6 months now I'm also developing high blood pressure, borderline high blood sugar, and high cholesterol.

Please someone give me some hope.

I can't do housework w/o getting winded anymore, I'm scared...
