Taking Antibiotics

I've been taking antibiotics after some ps I had done a couple weeks ago and I was wondering if the pills were too big or if anyone thinks it might be best that I half them.  It's been awhile since ive had to take an antibiotic and my rny was in 2006 so I've sort of forgotten.  I probably would get the most benefit had i ask for liquid antibiotic but I wasn't thinking. The antibiotic is bactrim and it's to be taken with an 8oz glass of water so it will probably wash out of my pouch anyways but I just wanted some feedback regarding this... thank you so much for your help.

Cant they give you an injection for antibiotics?
 I would ask if they had something smaller.

You can sip that 8 oz of water you dont have to chug it. Maybe drink 4oz then take the pill then do the other 4 oz, you should be fine as long as you drink your water and not chug it.>>>>> JMO

Bactrim is not absorbed in your stomach so drinking the water won't hurt.  But, the caplet can be broken without a problem.  My surgeon told me not to take pills larger than a M&M.

I just had to take these HUGE penicillan pills for a bacterial infection in my throat - I just broke them in half and they worked just fine :)
