Puree ewwwww
I forgot all about ricotta mixed with a little shredded mozzerella and topped off with sugar free spaghetti sauce! I used to add a little bit of egg beaters with it and some fresh basil and oregano so that it was like the filling in stuffed shells. LOVE IT! Also, on beforeandafterhelp.com there is a recipe for chilli relleno puff!!!! My all time favorite!
You can do it!!!

Its nice to see you guys and gals again too!!
Thanks everyone for the great suggestions.
Hubby is doing great...he is down 32lbs in less than 1 month.
Down from 350 blood sugars to 150 or less! and down to 1 blood presure med a day.
This is the fastest he has healed in 10 years. His skin is much more healthy as well.
Its just been a great blessing so far for him.
He wouldnt eat anything pureed. He stayed with yogurt and taco bell meat for the the puree part.
But I cant stand the Taco bell meat, it just doesnt work for me.
Everyones suggestions sound wonderful.
I cant wait to try them!

Janice,
I want to give you this sugestion.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from fast food!!
A very wise person (Hi Paula!) told me once that we do not know what is put into that food.
Also she told me to think of it this way... we never lost any weight from fast food - always gaining.
If you find yourself out and about and need a quick bite, you need to prepare. After this surgery you really need to prepare.
Always have some protein powder with you. Water is very easy to come by. Worse case scenario, drink tons of water till you can get home or even the grocery store for something that is on your safe list (puree), and then beyond. (string cheese, protein, yogurt, etc)
Now is the time to learn new habits. Do not try to push the limits and eat at fast food resturants, before you know it, you may be back to where you were before.
Just remember you spent ALOT of money to get healthy, why mess it up??
If you ever saw me, I ALWAYS have my little cooler with a couple of reusable ice blocks and something that I can eat.
Please take this to heart, both you and your husband... WE ALL WANT YOU TO SUCCEED!!
I have now SWORE off fast food for the rest of my life.
Also if you and your husband have a chance, if you are in Nashville, please attend one of the Baptist support groups, we would love to see you all.
Think about it...
Michael.

Hey there,
I know the pureed phase really does stink, but there are ways to get through it. I ate things like grits or mashed potatoes with some protien powder mixed in. I also had things like tuna or chicken salad, cottage chese, Lite and Fit yogurt, sugar free pudding. Also, if you can get your hands on some Achieve One (I hate to let that secret out, but everyone loves it), and some of the World Wide protien shakes...I like the chocolate and the cookies and cream. Nectar is good too, I like the capuccino flavored best.
It helps to get a magic bullet. You can get those anywhere, like at Wal Mart, Target, etc. Hope this helps.
