I'M HOME!!!

Thanks everybody for the thoughts and prayers.  I got home about lunch time today.  They drained the abcess. I feel 100% better than I've felt in a few weeks!! Don't know yet what kind of infection it was.  Dr. McDowell and Dr. Parker both think I have diverticulitis, which they say is rare in someone my age (39).  Sent me home with antibiotics and pain meds.  Dr. McDowell said that with my chronic constipation and now this abcess, he would probably have to do more surgery but not right now.  He wants to let all of this heal up and get all the lab work back.  He IS going to let me go to Florida tomorrow!!  YEEHAA!!!  I'm so looking forward to it.  I will definitely be taking it easy though.  What better place to recuperate than on a beach!!  Again, thank you all so much for your care and concern.  There's not a nicer group of people than all the "LOSERS" on this board!!

Glad to hear that all went good for you. I have had that diverticulitis before and told me the same thing. It is some nasty stuff for sure. Glad you are going to get to go on your trip. Just take it easy and enjoy yourself. Have a safe trip.

Here's the scoop.  I'm too dumb to figure out how to change my ticker.  I tried and what you see if what I got.  I can't even figure out how to erase what's there.  That's pitiful isn't it!!!  Would you believe I went back to college at 40 and graduated with honors at 44!  I guess I'm going to have to break down and ask Scott to fix it for me.

Glad you're home and doing well!

I'm jealous!  Not of the diverticulitus, but of Florida and the sandy beaches! 

I'm glad the Doc has found what is going on, and has offered some help.  Enjoy your vacation and bring some of those sandy beaches back to Tennessee.  On second thought, we don't need any "beaches" in Tennessee! LOL!
