Introduction

I just want to say hello to everyone. 

I'm not sure what  you put in your intro posts, so here's short bio:  I'm 33, a native Nashvillian though I don't sound like it.  I work at Vanderbilt.  I've been overweight most of my life and had alot of success working one on one with a dietitian before the center was closed down.

I've gained most of that weight back over the last year and am now considering lap band surgery as another tool in my aresnal (in addition to watching my food and actually moving more!)

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and hopefully meeting some of you in the future!

Just wanted to say Welcome to the board. This is a awesome place for support,laughs,education, etc. Post often and keep us up to date on your journey. The folks on here are wonderful. We talk about it all, trust me........lol

I also would like for you to join in one of our little get togethers that we have each month. We have the Lunch Bunch that meets usually the 2nd Sat of each month. We have the Dinner Club that meets usually the last Fri of each month. Jus****ch the board for all the details. This is a  good way to meet us losers..........lol

I see that you are checking into the LapBand. I had mine in Aug of last year. If I had to do it over again, I would in a heartbeat.

Welcome to the TN board Jonnelle. I wanted to wish you lots of sucess on your journey to weight loss and better health. Let us know if you have any questions or need anything. Everyone on here is very helpful.
I had my surgery at Vandy. My sister and a couple friends of mine work at Vandy also. My sister is going through the approval process right now for surgery. She has to lose 1 more pound to meet their 10% requirement and then she can get it submitted for approval. Hopefully it will be submitted sometime next week. But from everything I have heard, Vandy has great insurance and they are good about approving it. Hopefully that is true for you and her. 
Keep us updated on how you are doing.

Welcome to the TN forum.  Good luck on your journey, I had lap band in March of this year.  I should have done it years ago.   I worked at Vandy some 13 years ago, my husband still works there, but on campus.  I have many, many friends there.

This is probably the nicest group of people I have ever met.  If you have any questions, jump right in, and of course if you know any answers to qwuestions...jump right in! 

Hang on, this can be a wild ride, but very worthwhile! 

If you are going to come to the walk, it will be held at Centennial Park in Nashville.  Registration starts at 8:30.  We will be located in the rear of the park by the Event Shelter.  There is a jet plane and a huge locomotive there!

We look forward to seeing you there as well as other upcoming events!
