I for one can attest to the drinking milk makes you stall. I had no idea about this till I read it before in a post from you and Susan and as soon as I switched to all water or using Carb Count down I started losing weight again.  Also have to agree abou****ching out for the sugar free products and thiking they are safe or even healthy, they are full of carbs and can make you stall big time. Thanks for all of these reminders. It helps me cause I am still trying to lose and sometimes need a reminder on everything I need to do.

You have any suggestions on something good to keep ay my desk or in my purse when I have a low blood sugar episode? I like peanut butter crackers but the carb issue comes into play.

Have I told you lately how much I adore you Melinda? LOL I just told Dawn the other day about a few products I saw you post about prior to my surgery and I made a mental note.  I bought and used the Hood's prior to surgery.  And, the Fuze (low card ones) are great! If you like/liked juice then this is an awesome thing! To me, it is just like juice without all the yucky bad stuff that comes with regular juice.  Now, I think you are right on about eating at least 3 meals a day but I confess that where I am at this point... I struggle to just eat. I try but often fall short. Now, Dr. Houston told me to expect it though. And, I think it's good to ALWAYS look at labels.  Sometimes, a low fat product comes out better than fat free.  It really is all about the label. I've compared some things and one may have maybe 1 less carb or sugar but have less calories. It's all about balance.

Great, and very helpful thread! Thanks, Melinda! (and other contributors) Confession: I was really good about journaling my protein and water intake early on. Now I just keep a mental tally. But I've never really kept track of calories, carbs, etc.    Question... for someone 9 months out, but still needing/wanting to lose about 20-25 pounds, what should my daily intake look like for calories and carbs?  I will probably make up a spreadsheet to keep track of protein, calories, carbs, and water. Anything else I should add? Anyone else have a spreadsheet or way of tracking they'd like to share? Thanks, gang!   ~ Tara

Try fitday.com. This is a free online program that lets you enter your foods and it will track calories, fat, carbs, protein & water.  Any foods that are not already in their database can be entered as custom just by using the nutritional label from the package.

Thank you so much. I'm pretty sure that my stall is due to skipping meals and I don't journal at all. I fought the carb monster about a month ago and just stopped eating the triscuits and low carb tortillas. I really needed to see this today.
