Thus the reason I drink extra water...to compensate for the caffeine. Sometimes I do use decaf beans to brew my espresso. I keep decaf and regular on hand.
BTW - There is caffeine in decaf, just not as much.

You are correct, Scott. They cannot be counted toward the daily fluid intake. As a matter of fact, I have heard it said that for every one cup of coffee (caffeine) you drink, you have to drink 2 cups of other fluid ! Wowsers! That is a good reason to drink the decaf... and for someone like myself who struggles with getting in the daily intake of fluids (though I try very hard and am working on it) the use of a lot of caffeine isn't such a great choice.
