Hello Everyone... It's Becky here again...I am about 5 weeks post op from Lapband surgery and have lost a total of 25lbs.   However, just had a fill last week (1st one) and now am more hungry than ever.  I haven't called the drs office...am trying to wait it out.  Next appointment is 5/15.  Any suggestions?    So for the off topic question:   I am very new to the area being from Maine and a damn yankee as I am told.   I am looking desparately for a x-ray job...I live in Hendersonville.  With gas prices trying to keep my commute as reasonable as possible.   Any suggestions would be very welcome.   I have not seen any postings in this area for x-ray positions...I have looked at all the area hospital job boards, career builder, etc...am a I missing a good healthcare job resource???   Thanks for taking a look at my post. Becky

Hi Becky, Good to see you hun....Losing 25pounds in 5 weeks is just fantastic...

That averages out to be about 5 pounds a week.....  Very nice....

I have a friend that does Medical Staffing....  Send me a message to let me know if this might interest you and I will get you that info... Hey sweetie,  talking about jobs, career advancement possibilities, losing our jobs, is to me not off topic....    It is very much on topic.....  Employment or the lack there of is huge in our WLS journey...

25 lbs in 5 weeks! Go, girl!!!  That is just absolutely fantastic! Awesome, awesome job.  You are working that tool for all its worth.  Now that is what I like to see... someone who gets their money's worth.  Are you an xray tech?  You should check online at Baptist or St. Thomas to see if they need any help.  They post all of their jobs now online.  I dont know if that would help you or not.  Have you tried HCA online too?  Good luck on finding a job in the area.   BaptistHospital.com

Hi Becky. Congrats on the weight loss so far. That is great. From what I have heard, the first fill, or 2 fills, are very minimal and are not that noticable. I believe it is the 3rd fill that they really restrict you. I believe the first two are just to get used to it and a little at a time. I could be wrong but I am sure that is what I remember from my cousin who had the lap band. She did not really have much restriction until the 3rd one. So, I think that may be pretty nornal but if you are worried, you can call your Dr and just ask.  Sorry, I don't know about medical job resources. I take it you have checked the Hendersonvilel Medical Centers website? I know a couple of people who work at Vanderbilt and they are always hiring there for different positions. You could check their website. I know that might be too far away from you. Maybe you could start there and then transfer to Hendersonville Medical Center when they have an opening. I believe they are both in the Tri-Star community and are linked so that may be a possibility. Good luck on the job hunting front.  By the way, it is not to late to go to the dinner tonight. I am not going to be able to make it but you can just show up.
