New and Thankful

Hi, Cheryl, I would love to meet you for lunch somewhere. I will PM you my phone number so you can call when you get here. I will need to plan a little in advance as I don't drive anymore. I'll need to arrange for my husband to bring me. How exciting! Also, we have something else in common. I'm going to be a grandma on July 8 or there abouts. According to the ultrasound it will be a grandson. My daughter has asked me to be with her while she has the baby. She and her husband are living with us at the moment. Cant wait to meet you. Welcome! I also want to say an encouraging word about weight loss surgery and reduction in pain level.  While I cannot speak about your pain, I certainly am well acquainted with my own pain. I have degenerative disc disease, degenerative facet disease, arthritis, spondylolisthesis (a disc out of alignment) and fibromyalgia. My pain has been a constant enemy for about 4 years and a sporadic enemy for many years.  I am now 6 months post op.  I am thrilled to say I've had a great reduction in my pain level I would say at least a 70% improvement.   I wish you the best and Welcome to the group.

Howdy Karen, I am 6 weeks post op. I started out at 326 and working hard. I had the RNY , and would not change a thing. You have come to the right place, I had so much support from the group and just everyone, it was awesome, question they were answered, and everyone made me feel at home. Thanks so much. Now that I have finally made the decision to have the surgery, I feel I can cope with the pain and other problems very well.  I have been a little emotional the last couple of days but I know that will pass. Just having decided to do something to improve my health has made a big difference. I look forward to getting to know you better. Blessings, Karen

Hey Karen I am still pre op.....I have to lose about 25 more lbs before my insurance will approve my surgery .......This board is great and the people here are amazing.......I have a camper in Dandridge that I visit a couple of times a month and would be glad to meet you for lunch one weekend.......I'll send you my cell # by PM and we'll try to get in touch.............. Hi, Wendy. I would love to get together with you. From what I can tell about my insurance, I don't have a set amount to lose. I just have to stick to a plan for 6 months. Tenncare used to require 5% loss but not anymore. I'm waiting to hear about an appointment with the surgeon so that I can find out all the details. Thanks so much for your offer of friendship.
