Centennial Sports Plex Water Aerobics?

I am asking here because I figure someone may have attended their Water Fitness classes and be in the know...is it a place where a very large woman would feel comfortable? I have been the largest woman in an exercise class before and sometimes it hasn't mattered and sometimes it has been unbearable.  I am sure if I call and ask they will assure me it will be ok no matter how far from the truth that might be. I can't walk for exercise right now because I am recovering (hopefully) from a knee injury so I hoping these kind of classes will help.

I did not attend those classes... I did attend the Baptist Wellness Center during my 3 month Succeed program a few years ago... one way that helped me was to just look at it like this: "I might be big right now, and these people may not like it...  they may even stare... but I will not be like this long...  I will come back some day and they will see a new person..." That helped me a lot...  I psyched myself up and bought a size 24 bathing suit...  then went in there and swam to my hearts content.  I did not care at that point.  Something just burst in my brain that said, "YOU are going to be thin and skinny soon so do not care what these people think!"  No one else in my group would go swimming but me...  You can do it!!!  Just think, before long you will be the skinniest!

Hey Debbie, good to see you on here again. Me and DH are members of the Smyrna "Y". I love the pool there and it is really accomadating, since sometimes both of us are in wheel chairs. The unisex changing rooms makes things real easy on us. Cheryl

I live in Antioch...probably not far from you!  Does the Y let you pay for passes?  I really can't afford to shell out hundreds of dollars right now to join.  That's why I looked at the Sports Plex because you pay for just a month ($60) or pay each time you go.

We are in Antioch too. I'm not sure if the "Y" let's you pay for passed or not. But I do know that they have a program that they base how much you pay a month on your income. As far as the joining fee, I think they will let you split that up. Don't go and quote me on that......LOL. I'm sure you can call them and ask, or if you see Tara on here, I think she is still working there at the Smyrna one, I'm sure she can answer your questions. Hey precious Blush.....   I love your name cause that is my favorite color of lip gloss.....   I want to first salute you my sweetness cause I don't think I could ever have the courage that you have to ask where a place is that a large woman would feel comfortable.....    Does a place like that even exist????

I never ever ever felt comfortable as a large woman anywhere on the whole planet...  I had a prejudice against me at 277 lbs..  I am 5 ft 3 inches...  And I have a prejudice against me at 118 pounds at 5 ' 3 inches...   I was frowned upon then at 277 lbs cause I was viewed as a lazy uneducated (did I happen to mention the word lazy??)   person that surely was ignorant cause she wore a size 24 to 28.....

Then my closest allies view me as a lazy, uneducated (did I happen to mention the word lazy???) person that surely was ignorant cause she wore a size 4 to 8 and only a special person that holds a certain club members card can be in that group...

You are a beautiful new bride.....   And a future family is surely in store for you....   But we have to some how get your medical issues under control...   Whether it be from WLS or other means, we have to get your Weight under control...   Hormones and Obesity play a huge part in being able to be a new MoM..  I am unable to go into that topic in too much detail cause the male population of the board will usually send me a message and tell me that the ladies monthly information makes them feel way too uncomfortable and embarrassed..   It is a Co - Ed board and we have to take everyone's feelings into account....   It is only fair.....

But there are several new Moms and recent new Moms that have had WLS and have become pregnant pretty quickly.   They would be more than happy to share their joyful experiences with you if you asked them to.  Just off the top of my head would be April, Misty, Elanae, Maharet and a few others that I can't get a hold of like Jacqui for whom I am very worried about.....

Blush, you are gonna do this....  I believe in you....   You are not gonna need a cane....  You are gonna be able to chase after a toddler like God intended for you...   You have to BELIEVE!!!!
