Hit Wall-Need Meal Ideas
Hey Scott....
Good to see you today....... Thought you were gonna be working out in the yard today!!!!! Go outside......... LOL
Just in my humble observations I do not think that any one should be correcting any ones post.... You would never ever ever be the cause of someone not losing or stalling. The recipe idea was wonderful... I am pretty sure that me, you, Stacy or anyone else that has gone through a life altering surgical medical procedure could probably sit back, view a recipe and be able to determine on their own what they could have or not have at their particular stage.....
If a person is not able to do that then I am pretty sure there is no one here on this board that could help them or anywhere else for that matter... I been a reader on here for a while and I just have never met anyone that has to keep being reminded how many weeks they are out of surgery... BELIEVE ME they know that......
Stacy just asked for suggestions... I can tell that she is a grown person with an education..... She knows how to decipher information for herself.... Please keep the recipes coming..... I am a grown person too........Your contributions to this board are just as valuable as anyone else's.....

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in on this because I'm sure in the near future I'm going to be where Stacey is. With all due respect, I consider myself above average intelligence. However, with that said, obviously good food choices have not been my forte. If they were, I wouldn't be here. Even though I have not had my WLS surgery yet, I am trying very hard to learn now. Sometimes, I look at a nutrition label and can't make heads or tails of it. I am trying to learn but it is a learning process which is what makes this board so very valuable. There are folks at every different stage. So, I appreciate all that I can learn. I think it's awesome when someone lets me know what is good and what is bad. And, if someone says here is a recipe but if you aren't as far out as me then you may want to... Even for the 1 yr and 3 months of researching and reading the board I still have questions... tons of them. Things I'm unsure of. I bought some popcorn cakes today that are similar to rice cakes. I thought I was doing a good job when I looked at calories and sugars. I however neglected to look at carbs. Even though I know that's something to be mindful of as well. I have seen posts about protein bars. So, I started thinking about picking a few up. The protein # was awesome but when I looked at calories and sugars on most of them I realized that this may not be good for awhile because I'd be consuming 1/2 or 1/3 of my calorie intake in just a protein bar. I would not have known to be mindful of that had it not been for all the great information these wonderful folks share. You know what they say, "knowledge is power".
Hi Stacy. I could not (and still can not) stand to much fish after my surgery either. I used to like it before but I guess your taste buds change so I couldn't do alot of tuna and soft salmon like a lot of people. Are you still doing pureed or is it soft foods now? I know I lived on refried beans with cheese. You can get a can of refried beans and put some cheese on it and heat them up i nthe microwave. That is good for you at this stage. I know some would also put that red enchilada sauce or whatever on theirs. I never did that - mostly because I never found that in the store to use. Yo ucn also get the refried beans at Taco bell. It already has the sauce and cheese. Although it probably isn't as healthy as just making your own so you can use low fat items but at this point, just eating is important.
Also, you can eat chicken salad. You can either buy some that is low fat and already made but I always made my own. You can get those cans of chicken breast pieces in water (it is with the tuna) and then mostly drain it and put it in the blender with some low fat mayo, mustard, cheese, salt, pepper..etc. And mix it. That was always good to have at your stage.
Making deviled eggs is a good change to. Do you like cottage cheese and yogurt. Don't forget those. I don't like cottage cheese but I do eat ricotta cheese. You can get ricotta cheese, put some on a plate, add some low sugar spaghetti sauce (Ragu has a good one), and some fat free mozzerlla cheese and spices (Like itilian seasoning or oregano) and heat it up for about 30 seconds in the microwave and eat it. It taste just like the inside of a lasagna. I also eat ricotta cheese mixed with some sugar free preserves.
I will have to think of other things I ate at that stage. Everyone I think goes through the stage you are going through where you get tired of the same ol food. Hopefully you will find some things you like. Godo luck.
