So where can I find a good selection of Liquid Protein drinks locally? I have tried several different kinds before when attempting high protein diets and know if this is going to be an important tool in my pre-op and post-op diets I need to find something I can stomach.  So I am looking to start trying different brands now. Thanks for all your help, you guys!

Vitamin Shoppe is your best bet while GNC does have some of the products I like...  but GNC is mostly for body builders Protein Powders: Matrix Chocolate, orange cream, cookies & cream Nectar products in flavors:  cappuccino, apple ecstasy, twisted cherry, roadside lemonade, crystal sky, fuzzy navel, some sort of tea flavor but I dont know about that one Elite products:  they have flavors such as mint chocolate, berry blast, gourmet vanilla World Wide Protein Ready to drinks although I only have tried one flavor, banana but dont like it only because I dont like banana drinks too well.  I have heard people love it. Labrada Lean Body (low carb) ready to drinks:  chocolate, vanilla, banana & cream New Whey protein "bullets" in plastic tubes, 25 & 42 g protein each in many flavors Cytosport Pure Performance ready to drinks - watermelon, tropical, orange.  I only like watermelon.  But, you will definitely need/want to water this down a lot! Its too sweet otherwise...  Hope this helps. OH and they have Blender Bottles at GNC for 8.99, the 20 oz ones... they are perfect.  I never had one until 19 mos postop (recently purchased one) and I went back for 2 more! There is a whisk ball inside that crushes up your protein powders...  and it doesnt leave all the foam you get when you blend it in the magic bullet or electric blender.

Thanks!  Now I just need to print out this list of suggestions.  I relieved to see other flavors besides chocolate, chocolate, or vanilla.

Oooo, Honey...we can teach you how to make just about any flavor protein drink you could wish for. Check out some of the protein smoothie recipes on Mel's site. I would be happy to bring you samples of any of the protein powders I have. I can bring them to the next support group meeting. I have: Nectar Cappuccino Nectar Twisted Cherry - this is awesome mixed with SF Pomegranate syrup added to the water Nectar Sweets Vanilla Bean Torte Gladiator Strawberry Gladiator Chocolate Matrix 5.0 Perfect Chocolate Any Whey - flavorless protein powder I also have a couple of New Whey bullets if you would like to try that. I have orange flavor in the 42 gram. These can also be used to make protein jello for those early post op days.

What do you add flavorless protein powder to? You guys are so great!

I add the flavorless to stuff like soup, cream of wheat, oatmeal, applesauce...stuff that is not sweet or that I don't want to alter the taste of with a vanilla or fruity flavor. The Any Whey is heat stable meaning you can add it to warm (not hot) foods and it won't clump. Just make sure you add some cold liquid first to make a paste and then add your warm food. A good rule of thumb is nothing hotter than what comes out of a drip coffee maker.

At Lunch Bunch a couple of months ago, I was given a brand new bag of Matrix Orange Cream.  At first I did not care for it.  Now, I love it.  I start my day with 8 ounces of water and Matrix.  I found if I mix it the night before and let it get real cold, it's a great start in the morning.  But then again at 3 in the morning, anything tastes good on the old throat!  Here are a couple of links to some great tasting protein drinks! Protein Packet #1 Protein Packet #2 The World According To Eggface (protein shakes) Hope you find something you like!

Scott I like to add 8 oz of Tropicana Sugar Free Orangeade to one scoop Orange Matrix.  That's tasty.  And it has no carbonation. Also, someone suggested the High C sleeves (they are $1 at walmart).  I bought some of the purple flavored ones, added one sleeve to 16.9 oz water, drank a few oz out, then added 1 oz of grape 42 g protein bullet that I had left... it was good... so that grape drink had 12+ proteins... hey when you can add a little to your water... why not?
