I was looking through the posts for the last few days, and I saw where someone had a question about Vit D supplements.  I take the "dry" form of Vitamin D - You can order it from a company called BioPharm without a prescription.  I take D3-50, one a day.  You might try these, or you could ask your doctor about them.

Bariatric Advantage also has Dry Vitamin D... they are in capsules, which according to my physician, I am never allowed to take EVER forever forever, did I mention forever? Anyway, I burst the pill open and swallow the contents.  I did take the 50,000 unit prescription vit D's and bite into them, suck out the oil which taste like crisco.  But its only a little bit...  so it didn't taste bad.

You can't take capsules?  I had the DS, so that's a new one for me...

Lesa, Dr. Houston said that I'm not to take capsules...  they could get stuck in my pouch...  plus due to the fact that food leaves so quickly, maybe they would not dissolve well...  he also said that I should crush my pills forever.  Well I dont do that. I should but on one of my pills, it is really nasty and I choke.  I cannot do it...  I did ask my gyn if I could take it twice a day, half at a time, to give it more chance to dissolve, and he said yes...  now that might not be the BEST decision and I am stepping outside my gastric surgeon's criteria... but I made that choice as the medication I'm taking is not for a life threatening condition.

I can't do timed-release stuff, because you never know when or how much you're going to absorb.  You have to learn some of these things as you go - Sounds like you're doing great!
