IDGOMB 04/16/08
Ok, things are starting to get back to normal, well semi-normal. We still haven't started back to the "Y" because Phil can't get in the pool. I don't like to get in there by myself. The pool does so much for my joints, legs, feet I miss that.
But anyway, today after we left the doctor we stopped at a park that had a place to walk that was wheelchair friendly. So I got Phil out and into the wheelchair and off we went. Now don't fuss at me, but I walked and pushed him for 15 mins. I know, I know, it doesn't seem like much, but it a big deal for me. I'm not sure how far it was, probably wasn't very far, but hey it's a start right? Phil is at 319lbs so pushing him and walking not only was good for my legs, I was also using my arms. I guess I will find out in the morning what all I worked............hehehe.
Since we have to go to the doctor at least everyother day, we are going to make this part of our day.

Thats great Cheryl. Happy to see that Phil is making progress and you were able to get out on such a nice day today. Don't discount the time you did do. Yes, I am sure you will find out tommorrow just how much you did and it will be more than you realize!

Good Job Cheryl! The sunshine did you both good. I know I'm slowly getting back into the exercise thing to. Sometimes it doesn't seem much but at least we can say IDGOMB! Walked 4130 steps (per: pedometer, still don't know what that equals) I know they want you to get 10,000 steps a day in. Did 15 push-ups, 15 leg lifts, 15 trunk rotations, 15 arm rotations. Hope to do a little more walking tonight.

You are doing Great Cheryl...... and every step counts....so enjoy the sunny days when you can get out. KEEP MOVING!!!
Bob L. I use a step counter as well as a project from the Wellness Center at work (the gym I use) and 2000 steps is equal to a mile. The current project looked at an average of three days steps then the goal is to add 2000 more daily.. SO my average is around 5700 and my goal is to walk 7700 daily.
IBGOMB 4/16 worked all day, to the gym for 5 minutes on the epilitcal ( still kicks my butt), 1 1/2 walking on the trach and 30minutes of my weights.
So far today my steps are at 7400 and it is only 5:30pm. I will add my steps from the family room up to the kitchen and bedroom/bathroom at least 3-5 more times tonight.
We all are doing great with the movement....I know I feel much better moving and I used to Never move (except for work---nothing extra).
