Water Flavoring Suggestions?

In anticipation of my surgery, I've been cutting back (way way back) on my soda consumption.  I'm down to 1-2 cups of it a week.  Which for me is awesome.  I had been a soda addict and would panic if I got low.  Anyhow, I've been drinking a lot of water and tea sweetened with the Wal Mart version of Splenda.  I actually like the "fake" sugar, amazingly enough.  Wish now I would have tried it a long time ago.  But, I buy big cases of bottled water and do good drinking it if it's very cold.  I've been drinking between 5-8 16 oz bottles a day.  Drinking more tea if I'm off of work and home.  But, I'm looking for good suggestion to enhance the water because I'm getting wore out with just 2 liquid choices.  I'm not big on fruit flavored tea.  But, I like most fruit flavors and love lemonade.  Anyone have any great SF suggestions to either make a pitcher or does anyone know of the single packets for bottled water that are sweetened with Splenda?  I prefer Splenda sweetened.  Not real crazy on the just SF things.  I went to that aisle in the store and was overwhelmed because there are so many of those single packet things now.  Thanks in advance.   Chandra

I had a couple of complications for about 2-3 weeks after my surgery and I was having a hard time getting my water in. What I did was add some True Lemon packets to my water because the Crystal Lite was too sweet. Now I just use a little bit of the Crystal Lite packet to flavor my water, 1 packet will last through 3 bottles of water. I like mixing lemonade and strawberry together.

First off, I love tea and drank way too much pre-op but now the only tea I drink is Crystal Lite.  If I brew real decaf tea and add Splenda, now it hurts my pouch and makes me sick feeling...   I have even tried the decaf instant tea but still a no go.  So I have to stick to Crystal Lite tea.  I also like Walmart brand Cherry Limeade and Crystal Lite Rasberry Peach Active Life.  I mostly just stick to the CL tea...  Good luck, I think it is just trial and error.  Also, your taste may change after surgery. My favorite CL flavor right now is Cherry Pomegranet. They have all sorts of different flavors. I kinda wish they would do a variety pack.

Crystal Lite is my favorite, or should I say Wally World brand CL is my favorite.  $1.87 at most WalMarts.  I keep a zip lock bag at work filled with all kinds of flavors.  This way I can choose to be different everyday!   We were drinking 4-5 cases of soda a week at our house this time last year.  Because of my son sneaking around after midnight, that was the first thing we changed!  Now we go through 2 cases of water a week, plus several pitchers of water.  Hang in there!

Ditto on the Crystal Lite, or Walmart/Kroger brand of the same stuff. There is such a variety of flavors, you are sure to find something you like. I would suggest swapping flavors around to keep from getting burnt out on a flavor. There are some flavors I drank so much of that I can't stand to even smell now. My current favorite is the CL Pomegranate Cherry. I was thrilled when they came out with it in the little tubs so I can make it a half gallon at a time now. Most other flavors I will get in the store brand. I also use a lot of Kroger brand Peach Tea. My hubby is going through a SF Kool-Aid phase right now. They also have this in packets to flavor either a single 16 oz bottle or make it by the 1/2 gallon. Right after surgery, you may find all of these too sweet. I remember even plain water tasting sweet. I also couldn't handle really cold stuff for several weeks. I needed it either warm/hot or room temp.

Some other options besides flavored water you can try and they are really GOOD. Milo's Splenda sweetened tea you can find at walmart and Tropicana Lite fruit punch yummm.  Pre mixed Flavored water I really like is at Aldi's the have Tropical Mango by Fit and Active. IT has 0 calories 0 sugar and is sooooo good and it comes in a big bottle for only 59 cents !!!! They also have a pomogrante flavor as well.

Hey Chandra, ditto to what everyone else said. I love the generic Orange, taste just like Sunny D to me. I have tried most of them. Hey here is  a thought, why not come join our next Dinner Club and who knows, and if you ask some of the folks they might bring you samples of what they have tried for you to try. That is what I did for my protein, you would not believe how many different flavors I have to try. I can't wait to get started on them. Ok maybe this is a trick to get you to come join and meet this crazy, wonderful bunch of losers...lol...is it going to work? Come on come on, we have a blast..... Cheryl
