A Special WOW moment
Some of you may remember that I was worried about my daughter's acceptance pre op. She didn't want me to have the surgery and was not at all supportive. Well, yesterday, she said "I know I wasn't supportive of you having this surgery, but, it was the best thing you have ever done!" She said I had changed in so many ways, not just the wieght loss. I felt great!!! Think she just wants money???LOL!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful moment!!!!!!
I agree that she was just afraid of losing you at first. Now she is seeing the benefits and she is proud of you. I'll just bet she is going to be one of your biggest supporters.
Way to go!

That's great. Some of my family and friends are not being supportive, but it's because they are afraid for me. They have heard some of the horror stories and think I should just "try harder" to lose the weight by diet and exercise. They just don't understand all that is involved and that it's not that simple.
I agree with everyone else. I have several people who are otherwise exceptional friends (LOL) but when it comes to surgery they are naysayers. And, in their head, they think of the way surgery was a long time ago with more fatalities and complications. It was hard and still hard for me to explain to them how much research I've done and that the surgery is improved and not as risky. I understand their worry though. They don't want to lose me. That being your daughter, of course she didn't want to lose Mom. Now that she can breath and see you are better than OK... she's OK. And yeah, she probably wants money too LOL

That is just awesome Marilyn. Like others have said, some are just scared for what you was going through. I have a best friend, that has been in my life since we was babies together. She was tottally against it from the get go. I tried to get her to go to seminars with me for her to see and here what I was. She wouldn't even do that, the day I had my surgery, was she there, nope. We still talk about once a month (use to be everyday or more). I have invited her to the Lunch Bunch/Dinner Clubs and she always has an excuse. I think she is jealous. I haven't called her yet to fill her in on my 125lb and tell her about being off Diabetic meds. She is not as overwieght as I was or even now since my loss, but she could lose some weight. The last time we seen each other was last year one week after my surgery. I wish she could see me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
