Happy Friday!  I recieved a call today that my insurance was approved, and in just 3 weeks!!!  Unfortunately I have to wait until Monday for my surgery date.  I was estatic when I first got the news, followd by a little aprehension that it is really happening.  I just started the "journey" at the end of January when I attended the WLS seminar.....and hear I am a few short months later ready to change my life and achieve that elusive goal.  I am ready!

Happy happy day!  Congrats!!! I know how I felt a couple days ago when I got the call for approval.  In an instant, everything had changed and from what all these nice folks here say... the changes will keep on coming.

Yes, my name is Jack...now you can say you know Jack    I went with lapband mostly because felt it was enough tool to help me lose the weight.  I lost 140 lbs in the past 4 or so years mostly with Atkins and WW, but have stalled the last couple of year...no gain, minimal loss.  I feel confident I can follow the plan with a restrictive only tool.  Although I am ready to do what it takes, I was not as comfortable with changing my anatomy unless I felt it would make a significant difference.  I have a number of friends and aquaitances that have had both lapband and bypass, and most have been very successful.  I was also very close to chosing the dudenal switch....but ultimately opted for lapband.  I think all of the "tools" are incredible and there is no clear right or wrong in my mind....although i am still a relative newbie and have lots to learn.   Thank you for the interest and I look forward to more interaction with those on the Losers Bench! Best Regards, Jack
