I know its frustrating. But there is a point after surgery when you stop cold dead in the tracks, and it seems and feels like nothing is happening... something is happening! You just dont see it on the scales right now... keep doing what you know to do... get your protein, water, exercise... it could be a variety of things such as you gaining muscle mass because you are doing workouts... have you taken measurements yet? Go ahead and retake those, and you will probably see some big differences! Be patient for in a few days or so you will start losing again.
I remember those days... thinking OH MY GOD! AM I THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO EVER HAD WLS AND STOPPED LOSING WEIGHT THIS SOON? AM I A FAILURE!? But that is completely normal. You are doing great! Those scales will be on the move very soon. If not, call me and i will come over there and move them right out the window for you! lol
I JUST LOVE YOU, when I post and want to give up you jump right in. Thank you for all your help..I will call if it doesn't move. My friend said, you have to lose, you are doing the "the right" stuff....so I just guess Ilike to wine to see if you all reply. I am praying that soon I can make a way down south to meet you all at a meeting.......thank you for all the hugs........
Joyce, hang in there!
This happens to most everyone. I remember having the same feelings as you! I was ready to quit and just go back to eating all the same junk as before. Right now your body is in starvation mode and is holding on to every precious fat cell it can. You will wake up one day and lose weight over night . At that point you will shake your head and say , "Duh".
Hang in there it will be all right!
Yeah, that is normal. Your body goes into starvation mode and starts retaining and holding onto every little bit it can. But once your body realizes this new eating routine is just how it is going to be from now on, it will start back dropping those pounds. Everyone hits that beginning stall. And there will be more stalls to come but this one is really normal. Everyone may hit it at a different time in those first several weeks. My best advise so you are not discouraged is to take your measurements. Your measurement inches are changing even if the scale is not. It always helped me to measure myself (waist, arms, legs..etc) so you can see the inchese disappearing when the scale wasn't moving.
And the 24 pounds is wonderful. Keep up the great work.

Joyce,
I seem to be hearing an echo. I said all the same things. I was so afraid that I would be the only person to have this done and not lose weight. I had failed at weight loss so many times before. It will be ok. Drink more water. The exercise may kick you out of starvation mode. It may tell your brain that your body is working, by God, so let it lose the weight! Just keep it up, and don't give up. I was definitely the most whiny person the board for a while!
