Hey Guys!  We had cc pancakes this morning.  If you have never made them, they are great.  Very high in protein and tasty at the same time.  We even added a little extra something to them this morning!  You can find pics and the recipe at the link below. Now if you are on a liquid diet, enter at you own risk!  Especially you Bob!  Hit the back button and stay away!  You're almost there brother! Hope you enjoy! Edited to add:  The title of my blog is "Food for thought and moderation too !"  So, before you put any food in your mouth, please think it through.  Should I be doing this?  Is it allowed in my Doctors plan?  Key to any weight loss is thought and moderation.  It is never my intention to steer any one in the wrong directions! Cottage Cheese Pancakes with Strawberries!

Those look yummy! I might have to go get some cottage cheese tonight so I can make my kids some in the morning. I have tried the bites as well, my 8 yo loves them too. I did a spanish version with salsa and low fat mexican cheese.

Wow those are making my mouth water. I'm excited about trying some of your recipes. I see that you had Dr. Dyer also as your surgeon, the nut. told me that I can't have fruit until I'm at goal weight. I went for my 6 wks. checkup Thurs. and she was unhappy with me for eating salad with grilled chicken and almonds. I thought I was making wise choices but I'm doing things too soon. I told her that I chew really well but she said no more salads until 6 months out and almonds have too much fat. Oh well we live and learn. lol

It has been ingrained in our dieting minds that salad is good for us...  but as wls patients, in my surgeon's words, "empty calories!  Just empty calories!"  Remember, you want to get your protein in first...  then if there is any room, go for the low carb vegetables...  Yes you have to watch the fruit so early.  You don't want to continue eating the fruits as they do have many carbs, and right now you have to watch your carbs, calories, sugars, even natural ones.  Later you will be able to add fruit back in.  I might add that I did eat strawberries on occasion during my weight loss phase...  but only a few at a time when I craved fruit really badly.  You have to be very mindful of how often and how much. Sounds like other than that you are doing good, and really striving to do better.

Thank you Melinda for explaining it to me so well. I just thought that I couldn't have salad because it was too soon. Now that I know about the empty calories then I will strive for my protein calories. This board is great.
