Soreness...any ideas how to help it move along
Hey yall,
I have been so miserable, as I can't get comfortable for any length of time. My tummy is so sore. I have been using an extra pillow under the area where the surgery was but....that is all I know to do. I don't think i need to take Percoset for soreness...I know I have to work thru it. Any ideas or feedback would help.

Sharon, it sounds like you are getting good advice! Walking is truly the best thing you could do. Just don't overdo it. I did that at 3 weeks out and ended up taking another week off from work. Just keep walking and sipping!
Now to make it a little better, here's you Losetrs Bench when you need a rest!

May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!

I'm like Scott take the pain meds. only when it hurts. And other then that walk slowing through the house. Take it easy. I think I might of done alittle to much this weekend, I tired, sore and I am gonna slow down. Take some time, like you. I will put my pillow over my tummy and my protein, hot tea, or hot decaf, I got to start my puree yesterday. I am making homemade puree asparagus cooked til tender and pureed and sifted through. Cooked in chicken broth yummie. Then I have my veggies. and its fresh......Just relax hon. Let me know how you get. Don't forget to sip the water and drink the protein. Hugs and luv Barb
Ok, I didn't experience much soreness after my surgery - I guess I was a lucky one. However, I do know that whenever I have had a chiropractic adjustment, my chiropractor has always told me to make sure I drink plenty of fluids to wash the toxins out. Now, I don't know how all that works, but I do know that it does seem to work. I have done it both ways - drinking plenty of fluids and not drinking any - and I can certainly tell the difference. So, I would say that you need to make sure you are getting plenty of fluids and do as much walking as you can certainly tolerate it - but also know your limits. Hang in there, I know it isn't any fun right now, but in the long run, you will certainly forget the soreness you are now experiencing. Take care and know you are still in my prayers.
