I figured it out!!!
Ok, sometimes I can be dumb. I had run out of my diuretics (water pills) about a week ago. I filled them and took them yesterday and lost 5 pounds! Also, for the past week or so, I have been drinking skinny mocha lattes from StarBucks. Well, those suckers may be sugar free and fat free, but they aren't calorie free! They have 130 calories each! So, no more StarBucks for me! I want to thank everyone for their support. I especially appreciate Mel's advice. I am keeping my food diary. I am trying to get the courage up to take my measurements. I am going to star****er aerobics this week to add to my bike riding. I WILL LOSE THIS WEIGHT!!!!!!!

See it all is working out. Don'****ch those scales ok? that is a big NO NO! I am hooked on Starbucks also I usually get their skinny carmel machiato and when I do have one I dont eat one of my snacks. I don't have a starbucks close to me now but when I move to Oak Ridge there is one about 4 miles from me, GOD HELP ME! The Army has promised us a gym membership in our area so I cant wait to find one and join.
But hang in there you will for sure lose the weight, dont give up and have faith in yourself.

Friends, please keep in mind... skinny latte's have skim milk. This means 12 grams of sugar. Water based drinks such as Cafe Americana better serves us. You can go to Starbucks.com and check out their nutritional guide info. I tried to cut & paste; didn't work... but all skinny lattes have 14 carbs, 12 sugars. Iced skinnies have 8 grams sugar probably cause they take out some of the liquid for the ice...
Hi Marilyn,
First of all sweetie you are not dumb and second of all you are not dumb....
You learn by trial and error......
My cravings have never been the Starbucks thing pre op or post op so I have never been able to identify with that... I have never been a big coffee drinker so I do not understand the starbucks experience. I think I am happy about that cause I would not be wild about paying $4.99 for a cup of coffee...
However, I have my vices I assure you. I do love hot tea.... For some reason after WLS I couldn't get enough hot tea. I have all kinds and all flavors, Green Tea, all herbs all colors etc.... I think it might be because I get so cold all the time. As to where before at 277 pounds I could not get it cool enough.... I had to have 30 jillion fans on and the thermostat set on something like 58 degrees. Now I wear 3 different layers of clothing in the house.
I am happy that you were able to identify a problem area... Wow 130 calories is like a meal.....
You are doing wonderful....You will get to your goal.....Thanks for posting....Many lurkers will benefit from your experience.....
One thing that is good, Trina brought up the tea thing... get a chai tea from Starbucks... the tea bags, not any mixed up concoctions that they may have... but get the hot tea bags and water and add some half & half and splenda or sweet & low. This is great.
For me, I love Starbucks products, but its also "the thing" to do or "the place" to go... we still want to be socially accepted somehow and I think its important that we can go into a Starbucks and have something to order... just an opinin!
Ms. Melinda...... you are absolutely right......
I forget that I was a teenager in the 70's and the most socially acceptable activity was Roller Skating in one direction while listening to the "Bee Gee's" singing "Jive Talking" over the loud speakers....
You couldn't be more right.... As I think about it whenever someone wants to meet me or have a business get together for a few minutes someone always suggest Starbucks as a meeting place.... We do need to be able to fit in "socially" and to fit in "socially" we need to be able to make good informed choices....
What do you mean Just an opinion..... You are priceless......
I remember those days, in fact I was doing it in my mid 20's with my cub scout troop. Yes I can skate backwards Bob. I love ice skating too, but haven't found any rinks around my area, great excercise. Maybe once I am moved and settled, I'll be able to find a rink, or a gym to go too, nothing to write home to mom about in Lebanon. I'm looking in the Madison area. Closer to Rick too. I always hated it when the guys got to skate by themselves, they skated to "Wipeout", the girls always got the love songs. Just give me a pair and I'm ready. Kathy
