Hello tennesseans! VSG in TN?

Hello my fellow Tennesseans!  I was wondering if anyone here has had the VSG?  I've been looking around and have found several RNy and Lapband patients.  ALso I was wondering who you selected and if you had any luck getting insurance to pay?

I think it just depends on your insurance,,I tried to get VSG approved my my insurance  ( UHC ) said it was too experimental at this point so I had the  RNY I have seen where some people had it tho,,check out the VSH threads Good luck,,I hope u can get it !

Hello, I have had the VSG- but it is not what I went in for.  I went in for RNY and because of some complications they did the VSG.  Insurance approved it because I was already in the operating room.  I have done really well with it.  I have lost 107 pounds since December 13th. ( well 58 prior to surgery and the rest since)  If yu have any more questions I will do my best to ansewer them.  Melissa

WOW, that's great Melissa!  Congrats on your loss!  I would like to see about Dr. RIchards.  Money isn't going to be the deciding factor on surgery but I do want to find an EXCELLENT surgery who won't cost me my first born.  HA!
