Please put this in the suggestion box
Okay everyone I have a suggestion for the next lunch bunch or dinner group or both... LOL
When we sit and have our meal seems like I have so much fun visiting and chatting and meeting the wonderful people that I am sitting by or close to that on my way home I start to ponder about some of the people that were there and the time went by so fast that I didn't get to converse with them or meet them like I had so wanted to. That makes me sad.
So, here is my suggestion:
1. We sit in a chair at the table
2. Someone brings a timer and sets it to go off in 15 minutes
3. When timer sounds everyone gets up, grab your plate, your cutlery and your beverage glass and move to a different chair
4. Someone resets timer to ring in another 15 minutes
5. Continue doing step 3 and 4
6. End result, we get to spend some one on one time with everyone
Kind of like a Chinese Fire Drill........... LOL

Back!!!! Okay went to google Speed Dating... This is what I found:
Men and women are rotated to meet each other over a series of short "dates", usually lasting from 3 to 8 minutes depending on the organization running the event. At the end of each interval, the organizer rings a bell or clinks a glass to signal the participants to move on to the next date. At the end of the event participants submit to the organizers a list of who they would like to provide their contact information to. If there is a match, contact information is forwarded to both parties. Contact information cannot be traded during the initial meeting, in order to reduce pressure (especially on women) to accept or reject a suitor to their face.
OMG!!!!! I had no idea!!!!! Just when you think you have a novel idea then BAM!!!!! (Emirl) someone already came up with it...
Sounds like it could be fun. I know I never get to visit enough with everyone.
I think since Barb & Cheryl are still a bit mobility challenged they get to stay put and we will rotate to them though.
If everyone is up for it I will bring a timer to lunch on Saturday and we can give it a go.
