Interview

Ok, so sometimes you apply for a position that is open and don't hear anything so long that you figure they did not want to interview you. This happens all the time. But, today I was called on a resume that I sent out and thought they had probably chose another candidate. I was wrong! They called today and I am interviewing tomorrow to be a Recruiter for Remington College. First off, this is not just a job... this is my dream job to be a Recruiter. It is not a terrible drive and the lady Kathy I spoke to seemed very nice. Usually when I have been contacted about recruiting it is a man, and no offense but they usually just want someone who can close a sale from my experience and I think as women we are more likely to think about the whole process of building a relationship with potential students. Now I know that is my opinion but I still am excited about selling my relationship building skills and my personality. Often these positions do require high sales ability but I think although I have not done sales directly I have worked for attorneys and we have to sell them to potential clients. Also, they usually want someone with a certain image and this is what concerns me. I have nice hair, dress fairly nice (although I could use some more professional stuff that fits better) and I do carry myself well. I am just not young, cutsie and thin. I really don't think this will hold me back because I can sell myself based on my education and personality. The point is that someone is giving me the chance. That is what I wanted. Please pray for me tonight. I am going to prepare for the interview tonight and will try not to get to nervous. I am actually very excited! Any tips would be greatly appreciated... thanks all for being there and keeping me on the right track. I hope to have good news soon to post.:)

Hi, best tip is don't offer any extra  information unless they ask for it, and don't over try to sell yourself.  Just be confident in yourself and appearance and you will do fine.  We're behind you all the way. Love

THanks and I absolutely will keep you all posted. I will be on pins and needles after the interview. I have some thank you cards and I am going to prepare one tonight so I can mail it right away after my interview. I am having the worst time trying to decide what to wear though. Only my son and mom will know before I post it here... :)
