Dear family ~ Thank you all so much for your prayers for my friend and her family. Here's an update... Elijah Paul was born at 11:46am. He weighs 5 pounds and is 17 1/2 inches long! He is doing great! Janelle did undergo a full hysterectomy directly following the birth. The placenta had just entered the bladder, so some repair was necessary. I don't know all of the details, but know that she was in surgery until about 3:30p and required 4 units of blood. She came through it all great, thanks to our faithful Lord and His hand of protection! At this point, we are hoping that, due to the size of the baby, he will be able to leave the hospital when Janelle is discharged. They were afraid they were going to be visiting the NICU for several weeks, but it looks like that won't have to happen. Yea!! Again, thank you all for your prayers. You are a special bunch!  ~ Tara

Hi Tara,  I spoke with Colleen last night and she had just left Janelle's room.   She was peacefully sleeping, so she left her that way.   I'm glad all went well.   Keep in touch. Beth

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. 5 lbs.....yeah. My sissy 's girl was 5 lbs at birth and she wasn't a premmie. I just remember the first time I changed her diaper before she left the hospital....I was like.....where's her butt. Now mind you all my babies were above 8 lbs..they had butts. Don't you worry though Aleta is now 15 years old, does ballet , just got her point shoes and has a shapely BUTT!  MAn I'm weird. Beth B. in Chattanooga

God is good.  Love the name Elijah, I am so glad that mom and baby are both doing good and I am glad that she did have babies so the hysterectomy won't be as emotionally shattering.

They are a very lucky family to have thier faith in God and great friends like you.

love ya

darlene
