Work and fudge pie!

Hey guys, just a short good morning to ya!  I had a situation yesterday at work that I thought I would share.  It seems we all have that special someone at work that pushes out weight loss buttons.  You know the ones I am talking about.  They are the people who say, "You took the easy way out", or "You lost so much on your own, why are you doing this to your body".  I'm sure a lot of you can relate. My special someone is a great gal, but she can really get under your skin.  She has lost a lot of weight on her on and has kept it off for years.  Every day she will gather her minions and take off for their 2 mile lunch time walk.  After the walk yesterday, she said she needed something sweet, so she walked to the store and returned with a "Chocolate Fudge Chess Pie".  Which in the past was my favorite.   Now I know I am the one who decided to have surgery, so I shouldn't deny others in their quest for sweets.  But this person will track me down to make sure I know how good each and every bite is.  So, I decided to turn the tables on her.  When others started slicing and dicing their pie, I went to the break table and sat with them.  Not once did I say anything about the pie.  When she asked if I wanted a bite, I said, "No thanks, you can have mine!" I feel like that was a great victory on my part.  For me to sit with my friends while they eat sweets was major.  So, work and eating is no problem, at home...thats an entirely different animal!

Good for you Scott!  What a major vistory!  Watching others eat sweets is the MOST difficult thing for me.  I was such a sweetaholic.  I can watch people eat anything else, but I am not as strong as you are...yet! Marilyn
