Hang in there Joyce! When the date actually gets here you will be amazed how quick things move. It seems just like yesterday that I was approved, but now I am 6 weeks out! WOW!! so, slow down, take a deep breath, and prepare for the miraculous changes that await!
Now, what kind of cheese would you like with that wine? You pick the wine and I'll bring the cheese!
If you need anything, just holler!

Joyce,
Boy, it was just a few weeks ago that I felt the same way. I had committed to surgery, but then, I was "What am I doing, I will not be able to eat a piece of cake ever again!". And, I was terrified. Thankfully, on the day of surgery the anesthesiologist came into my room to do an "assessment" and snuck some Versed into my IV when I wasn't looking. Smart man! I spent the last few minutes with my family calm as a clam! Also, for 2-3 weeks after surgery, I really regretted having it. I think I wrote on here about how stupid I was to have paid out of pocket for this misery! But, 6 weeks out, I am thrilled with it. I have a lot of extra energy, have gotten off CPAP, lung meds and blood pressure meds, and have lost 33 pounds. So, go out and enjoy a good final meal before your pre op diet and then look ahead to a bright future!

I have anxiety, too... and I am less than 2 weeks away. I think I should probably not go on the Lapband board anymore because that only makes me more worried... a lot of drama over there and people talking about how the band doesn't work, they regret it, etc.
But I have personally seen it work wonder for two of my family members. So I need to focus on that.
Hang in there Joyce, it will be here before you know it. And I can honestly say I have never regretted having my DS for one single moment. And loosing a adverage of a pound a day is great!! I'M LOVING MY DS!
