Need full liquid Ideas
I have my 1 week follow up with my Doctor and the nutritionists and I should be starting the full liquid stage of the diet. I already have my protein poweder ready, but I would love to hear some great ideas on how to spice it up.. cold shakes, Warm drinks.. no matter.
I have a few Davinci syrups and I am looking for the SF Chocolate so I can make a Cappucino like shake or whatnot..
Any recipes or ideas you can share? I would also like some ideas of any creamy type soups I will be able to eat. After all the sweetness taste from the clear liquids, I would love to have differnt flavors in a creamy soup. I cannot stand the taste of broth atm.. It makes me sick thinking about it.. so thats out of the question.
Wish me luck tomorrow!
God Bless,
Rob

Hey Rob!
Good to see you posting! Sorry I haven't been around much but I've had the flu since last Friday. Anyway... I'm back and ready to help when I can.
Sheila already told you about bariatriceating.com. It is a wonderful resource! You have to sign up for the message board but after that...you have full access to the fabulous recipes and wisdom of not only the folks on the board but also of Susan Maria Leach...whose book is a must have! Linda Farnsworth is the queen of cooking (in my opinion) and has the most wonderful recipes you could ever imagine! When you are ready for soft foods...make the apple ricotta pancakes. I have them for breakfast at least twice a week. They have lists of foods for each stage of the post-op diet. Try the egg custard that Susan Maria recommends. It is very soothing to a new pouch. You really don't want to do much caffiene yet but decaf would be fine. You may want to get some Hood's Calorie Countdown and make some lovely hot chocolate and add a little Taster's Choice decaf or a shot of Starbucks decaf espresso. Read through the recipes on bariatriceating.com and see what sounds good to you.
Good luck!
Freddie
Hi Rob. It sounds like you are recovering well. Sf Hot Chocolate definatley is a good "treat". I will recommed staying away from tomato soup. I bought some but luckily before I ate it, I looked at the nutritional info and it is LOADED with sugar! I can't recall if this is the pureed stage or not but I ate the potato soup (minus the potatoes or blended it well). The brocolli and cheese soup if you strain the broccoli out. I think everyone already mentioned bariatriceating. They have lots of protein recipes. Just make sure you are looking at the right stage because some of those shakes ar more for people who are further out. You have to stay very general and limited on what you are trying right now. You only have to do the full liquid for a few days right? Then you will have more options when you get to pureed. I hope you find some things you like.
