Cheers to... Birdy!
Not to single her out... well, ok. To single her out....
I just wanted to post a "CHEERS" to Birdy (Lee Lee) She was not officially a part of our Jan. mini-goal challenge, but in reading through the posts this morning, I saw where she is down to 159. She did participate in the C'mas challenge and was at 167 at C'mas. So, she lost another 9 pounds and has broken into the 150's!
Good job, Birdy! And keep up that walking - 4 miles - that's great!
~ Tara

Thanks Tara. I keep thinking the weight is coming off slow until I look at the whole picture. Now that I have this tiny little thing in my house to care for and run after maybe it won't be so hard to keep my mind off my hunger. I have talked things over with my DH and we have pinpointed the time I like to graze and he isn't going to let me go off to the den any more after 6pm by my self. I am such a sneak eater and I can stick some thing in my pocket so quick. I am determed to get this weight off and look as good as I can without PS. My upper arms look really bad already but I have always had flabby upper arms that wouldn't wear sleeveless dresses. Well the baby will be waking up soon so I better go get dressed and get some work done while I can. Thanks to everyone for the support for the last 10 months. Birdy/Lee Lee
Birdy,
You are doing well, so don't forget that!!! We all have some sort of food addiction, if we are truthfull to ourselves. I have the same addiction, I use to hide food and eat it or stop at as many fast food places I could while I was out. Facing this addiction is very difficult, but you can do it. I know that if I fit what I want into my daily food intake, it is okay and I am not depriving myself. Susan and I have discussed this many times and we both agree, if we deprive ourselves then that is when we would want it that much more, but if it is planned, then it is not wrong. Remember, you are in a lifestyle change, not a DIET, I already hate that word!!! LOL You will have a lot to do with a little one around the house. My husband and I had a yorkie when we got married, he was our first child and we miss and loved him dearly, he brought us so much joy!!
Stay with it and keep up the good work!!
Shelia

Hang in there Birdy,
I agree with Shelia, this isn't a diet, this is a way of life. We all have been on diets and all failed. But now, by the means of medical science, have been given a tool that allows us to make the lifestyle change that we so need to live longer, happier, and more productive lives. We have been given this gift...now the way to repay this gift is to do everything we can to be sucessful. If you have to graze, find something that you can enjoy that is no carb, no fat, no calories. Don't forget about our old friend SF jello, or veggies with a very lo cal dip. Remember, it is always better to have a healthy snack with 50-100 calories than not and have an unhealthy one later with 500 calories. You are still in the "head hunger" stage, so work it, and give your body what it wants, something to eat. Just make sure it's healthy.
