IF I ever did get a tattoo, it would probably be a heart.  I love hearts.  They are my favorite...  I even have a heart wedding set picked out IF and WHEN someone ever chooses to get me one... I found it while Christmas shopping with Mike.  I told Mike, if Tim ever asks you what kind of ring I want, THAT IS IT...  I have seen many heart wedding sets but this one was the prettiest I have ever seen.  I tried it on several times and just looked at it.  And it wasnt huge either... I think it was only 1/4 carat if I remember right...  but it said "Melinda" all over it.  Not that I want to get one soon or anything! lol.  Tim would die if he knew I had been looking at them!

Was the diamond heart shaped? I've seen the heart shaped diamond solitares and they are beautiful! Bill and I picked out our wedding rings on our first date. We didn't know we were doing that, we were just thumbing through a book together and making comments about various items. We both pointed at the same set of rings at the same time and said "I like that." When we got engaged (on our third date) and went to pick out our rings, there was the set in the display case. The ring I wear now is not the set we got then, my rings were stolen from my jewelry box several years ago. The band I wear now matches Bill's band that went with my bridal set. I'm sure Mikey will put the bug in Tim's ear when the subject comes up.

I don't remember what the stones looked like to be honest...  Tim is not one to celebrate Valentine's Day...  he would rather choose a special day of his own "just because" and do something nice for me... I told him the other day, however, that yes it might be true, but that this is my FIRST Valentine's Day with a boyfriend... SO I do expect a gift....  He asked, "What do you want?  You already know what it is..."  I told him there were two things... he could pick whichever he wanted...  (1) the journey necklace to match my journey earrings from Christmas (2)IF he was REALLY ready to find out what #2 was, he would have to ask Mike.  And IF he ever asked Mike what #2 is, and decides that I am not ready or he is not ready for #2, then he can never tell me that he talked to Mike...  So #2 still remains a mystery.  I told him... Mike has seen #2 and he is prepared to let you know IF/WHEN you ask!  I wonder...  will he ever ask?  Inquiring minds (mine) wants to know...

Susan,

That is so funny, when I read your post,  Me and my dh did the same thing.  We went to Service Merchandise and looked around and he and I pointed to the same wedding set at the same time (we had known each other 5 years before we started dating).  a year later, we bought them and this year we celebrate 13 years.  Funny how things work out.

Hubby and I knew each other less than 6 months when we got married. I knew after our first date that he was the man I would marry. This September will be 35 years and he still makes me laugh!

A couple of the patient pics they showed me had tattoos. The dr. adjusted the incision to spare the tattoo. Bill would absolutely DIE if I came home with a tattoo!!! I think I may be able to talk him into one to replace my belly button if need be but that would be it. Wonder how a teddy bear would look there. LOL

You would be surprised.  I know it depends on where you have the tattoo, but I have one on the top of my right breast (ok Scott, I know tmi) but it still looks great.  I had one on my ankle aand it didnt change at all, but I didnt have any wt to lose on my ankle.  The one on my breast would look great if my boob hadn't fallen down so badly, I hate gravity.  LOL

I think a butterfly would be a great one.  That is the one I did after WLS, It is like a symbol of my rebirth as a beautiful butterfly from a caterpillar.

Susan...Yeeaayyyy! Wow, it is so awesome. We're all praying for a fast and wonderful recovery and excellent results. Now, talking about tattoos. I read and interact some on a forum where most are based in California as it is their doctor's forum but open to all. Anyway......many have gotten tattoos...most for fun. But there was this one woman who had a belt done, and she got tats put all around her like a belt but she has it sort of V in the front for some pretty contour. Seeing that was like the first time I ever entertained the notion, mainly cause I've seen older tats and on older skin.  Anyway I tease my husband that I would have spots put around mine and down my spine like that lady aliens on Alien Nation. Do you remember that movie? Funny what sticks in your mind. One scene showed one of the baldheaded- strategically spotted ladies undressing and you saw her spots down her back (it did stop there-) and I was thought she was gorgeous. I know I'm weird but I'm never without something to say. I am truely happy for you and yes I am mainly glad you have done your part to make this a good thing! Beth B. in Chattanooga
