I'm back Home!

I was discharged from the Hospital on Wed. Afternoon.  My Doctor came in that morning a little after 6am when I was going my 7th loop around the hospital (you still got the record Freddie!), and he said I looked great and all.  So pretty much I waited until Sharon got off work to get discharged.  We got everything taken care of and was home by 5pm.  Sharon went to church.. and I took up a spot on our nice recliner and next thing you know she was coming home from church!  I didnt realize I was so wore out!  But I finally got some sleep.  I walked a little in the house and slept until 4am.   The hospital staff were wonderful.  The program started by marsha for Horizon is really wonderful.  I had my own Personal RN that waited on me hand and foot and all the other nurses were very supportive and cheered me on as I made laps.  I actually wore out my nurse by all the walking I was going.  They wouldn't let me go by myself, so I took it upon myself to make sure they had a workout also!    My overall experience so far has been wonderful.  Surgery went without a hitch.  I was pretty much knocked out before I was even taken to the OR, so the last minute fears and anxieties of getting into the OR were pretty much non existant.  I guess I could ramble on and on about this, but I won't.  I have had an amazing experience and so far, it's the best way I could have for the start of the rest of my NEW life. Freddie, thank you so much for the phone calls, and keeping the board aware of my condition.  You are definately my angel.. thank you maam. As far as my most cherishable moment.  The nurses and respiratory nurses have a tradition of taking a hospital pillowcase and signing it.  I cannot wait to tack it up in my computer room.  I felt like they are now a part of my family! Well i'm going to go and walk laps in the house, and get a POPSICLE!  Take care all and thanks for the well wishes!  I'm doing great and feeling great! God Bless, Rob Cauthen

Welcome home brother!  I'm glad you everything went well!  Just keep up the walking and sipping, there's nothing better for ya right now!

Welcome to the Losers Bench!  May your Losers Bench be a place of rest after a long day of walking and sipping.  May it be a place of comfort and peace.  And last , but not least, may it be splinter free!

Welcome to the loser's bench! What a nice tradition that staff has. You'll always have the names of your caregivers handy as a reminder to pray for them.

Welcome home!  I'm so glad to hear that you are doing great!  Sounds like you are really making great strides to keep those nasty blood clots away.  I can hardly wait until you tell us that you are also getting in all of your protein!!!!  Remember, sip, sip, sip and then sip some more! Sorry I wasn't around last night...I started my church job and you know how it is on the first night.

Happy Thursday!

Freddie

Rob,   It is so good to hear that you are doing well.  I had worried and asked about you a few weeks ago.  This is so wonderful that you have had your surgery and that you are at home now with your family.  That is just fantastic.  I will keep watching to make sure you are progressing nicely.  I know you will do fine.  Good to see you.     Truly, Trina
