WELL.......  I SURVIVED!!!!!   It was a good week, with a lot of prayer on my side, (Please God, grant me wisdom and strength!!!) to get me through it.  I have a lot of students who do not want to learn or behave appropriately.  Because I am not permanent yet and quite a bit gun shy after a few bad experiences at other schools, I have not written them up yet or called their parents.  But it is coming to that.   I have a great administrative staff and the best faculty and science department I could ever dream of.  They have given me a tremendous amount of support and encouragement.  Apparently the teacher I replaced has been absent for quite some time so, it will take time for the kids to adjust to structure again.  I am a very structured teacher so this has been a culture shock for many.  I have a lot of paper work to do over the three day weekend, just to get ready for the next week and for evaluations.  Yes, I have to go through a years worth of evaluations in a very short amount of time. (4 weeks). I also have until Feb 1 to write a complete unit plan and lesson plan for the evaluation process.  I also have to do 15 hours of in-service by March or April.  I will worry about that after Feb 1!!!   I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers this week, keep 'em comin'!  I have one more week to go before this can become a permanent situation.  AND if I'm not glutton enough for punishment, all of my equipment came in for me to start tutoring for Sylvan Learning Centers at night from home on the computer!  Oh, and baseball is right around the corner.   HELP! Peace! Beth

Sorry, I have been gone all day and had a great time, so I am just now reading this post!!!  I am so very glad that everything seems to be going very well and I have a great feeling about this!!  If they are already talking about in-service quilifications, then that is very positive, not to mention they want you to prepare the Feb plan and lessons, if they did not like you or feel you were the right person for the job, they probably would not ask you to do this!! I hope you are getting in all of your protein and fluids, I know you are busy, but you need to make sure you take care of yourself!!! Love Ya,  Shelia
