You know what...  we joke around so easily together... like we are all a big family...  I say things that I would never say to other people!  lol...  we can just be ourselves and know that its all in good fun..  Heck, when we had surgery, our surgeons took our candy and pop away from us... we might as well have fun somehow! haha

You know, when the doc and I were talking about the midriff, she told me I would have a scar all the way up to my bra line. I told her my bikini days were long gone but if I did decide to wear one I would wear my scar with pride. I will have gone through a lot to get there and I will wear my scars like a badge of honor. At first she was telling me that when she pulls down the tummy portion it would really get rid of a lot of that. Before I could say anything about all of the excess on the sides she said, get this..."You are very tiny and you are right, you do need the midline incision." She called me tiny!

Awesome! Wow.....I need to know everything. I'm scheduled for a consult on the 28th and I know nothing. I carried most of my weight in my tummy so I was thinking I need a midline but we;ll see. Can you get a hernia between your ribs? I've noticed that I have a snall knot the size of a nickel but when I'm...straining...it gets bigger and it's in bewteen my ribs.....ANYBODY KNOW? Sorry for the highjack question but you are the go to people. Beth B. in Chattanooga

Is it in the middle where your ribcage spreads? I would imagine you could get a hernia there. Who are you going to see on the 28th? Make sure the surgeon you choose has experience with post WLS patients. We have special concerns that non-(formerly)obese people do not.

Yes. It is in between two ribs on my right side. OH and the surgeon is Dr. Chase here in Chattanooga. I know a nurse midwife who had a belt done and her thighs that used him. He and one other doctor in town are known for working with the formerly obese. I'm wondering if I should get a consult with both. I want a refill on my ...never been bigger than a C boobs that are now the tube socks...I'm hoping to be able to do that. My husband has never not been amorous with me but man oh man would I love to have some girls that he couldn't stop wanting to (insert your own thought here, after all I'm a happily married nice Christian woman)......Anyway keep us informed hon. We all want to learn. Please don't think I'm being critical or judgemental by saying my next concern....this is about how I think..not what anyone should think........ The only reason I haven't went to a surgeon before now is money. I felt justified in spending the money for bypass surgery since insurance didn't cover it. After all.....I neededto get healthy. But this getting myself redone is a mind/vanity thing. I keep thinking...in the big scheme of life I'm selfish. I should give the money away or pay off my house. But I want this. I want to feel Sexy. DO YOU THINK I"M CRAZY? Why do I feel guilty about spending money on myself? Beth B. in Chattanooga
