I have a date!!!!

February 7th at 9am. I will be having a belt lipectomy with muscle repair, midline incision and mons reduction, and hernia repair. OH MY!!! When I sat down with the nurse yesterday to go over costs and available dates, I started shaking. I told her I really want this but it is scary too. She said they see reactions like mine all the time. I will be staying one night in the hospital and I am very grateful for that. Dr. Wagstrom does NOT send you home with a catheter. She wants you up and moving around. EEK!!!!

Wow Susan. I had no idea you were going to have this. I am glad that you are going to go ahead and get it all taken care of. I am really happy for you and can't wait to see how it works out for you. I know you will keep us updated on how it goes. How did you know about the hernia? Was it something they found when they were doing the tests for the surgery or you already knew you had it?

I've actually had the hernia for several years. Recently it has grown and started causing discomfort. There have been a few episodes when I have had to push on it to relieve the pain. It's time to get it taken care of. I had told my husband that I would have it repaired when I had my plastics, unless it started bothering me at which time I would have plastics while having hernia repair. So, the hernia has driven the plastics. I think I'm freaking out more over this surgery than I did my bypass. I guess it's because I know it's going to be a much more painful recovery.

I am a tidal wave of emotions right now. Excited, scared, nervous, anticipatory, anxious...ready to get it over with. I called my investment advisor to place the order to withdraw funds. They said I can pull it from my ROTH with no penalty since it's for medical, woo hoo!!! And, with the ROTH, no income taxes!!! The one night stay will be billed to my insurance with the hernia and since I'm having a procedure covered by insurance along with the plastics, I got a reduction in the anesthesia cost. I hadn't even thought about the mons reduction when I went in. The nurse is the one who noted that needs to be done too. I'm gonna have a pretty kitty along with my flat tummy, hips and midriff!

Susan Congratulations! I'm glad that you finally decided to go ahead with it. I think you will be very very pleased and happy... make sure you have good pictures before, and take them along the healing progress... Now you will join me and Mikey on the PS bench. We moved off the loser's bench some time back and now we have our own little club. lol
