You have to sip constantly!!!! It's not sip, put it down, sip, put it down. It's more like sip, sip, sip, put it down, sip, sip, sip, put it down. After the first week or so I was able to take a normal swallow into my mouth and then swallow it in 2 or 3 swallows. Each week got easier and it took me fewer swallows to get my normal amount in. I started practicing not drinking with my meals before surgery too. It really did help to already have that habit in place. I found that moving my glass to the far corner of the table (in a restaurant) helped keep me from mindlessly picking up the glass while I was eating. At home, make sure no one else's glass is near you so you don't absentmindedly pick it up. LOL
