New member saying hello.

Hello. I am a new member and wanted to introduce myself.  I live in Meridianville, AL. I had a heart attack a little about 6 years ago which resulted in a stent and pacemaker. Since then I have gained over 120 lbs. Everyday tasks - tying shoes, walking up stairs, tossing ball with my grandson, etc. - have become very difficult. I tire very quiclkly and am short of breath.   I plan to have surgery by Dr. Richards at Vanderbilt as soon as I can get everything approved and set up. Although I am definitely excited and optimistic, I must admit I am also somewhat apprehensive and downright scared. I realize the risks are minor in comparison to the rewards, but it is still a major deal. Having said that, I am ready to have the surgery and get started on my journey to a slimmer, healthier, and happier me!  Anyways, just wanted to say hello and hope to learn a lot from you folks.  Bob

Welcome Bob!  As one of the few males on the boards here in Tennessee, it is always nice to welcome  new guys here!  This group on here really shows the world what a support group is all about!  So, jump in on any topic, ask questions, answer questions or just hang out and learn.  Once again, Welcome! You might want to check out the "Mens Board" also,  It's a great place to get a truly male perspective on WLS.
