Looking forward to Saturday
Hi Everyone,
I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful Holiday Season. I have missed you guys. The holidays were hectic here with people coming and going and I think the last are gone now. It is quiet around here now and there is lots of cleaning and re-packing to do but we are certainly blessed.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the luncheon on Saturday. I am going to be bringing some bags of clothing that range from size 20 to size 12 if anyone is interested. There are a couple of nice satin lined black blazer's in the size 20 range that someone may like to have.
I was excited to get in on the 1/2 price Goodwill day Saturday and got 2 very nice satin lined black blazers and one lined black skirt all in size 6. Who would have ever thought that I would wear a size 6. Most of the size 8 dress slacks were way too baggy. I started my WLS journey wearing a size 24 and every time I went into the dressing room to try on a size 24 garment with a 3XXL top I would sit in front of the mirror and cry. Now when I go into the dressing room with a size 6 garment and a size 3/5 top I sit in front of the mirror and cry.
This was my second Christmas and New Year's to go through since my WLS and it is still hard to believe that I lost weight each year. Christmas and New Year's was always my time to pack it on. Everything that was served I ate. All the cookies, the pies, the extra gooey mashed potatoes with piles of gravy just give me a pair of stretch pants with an elastic waist band and let me go. Hey it was the holidays and I could work it off after new years. Well I know I am preaching to the choir here. I have spent the last 2 years learning how to eat to live not live to eat and that has been a very difficult thing to do. I am so thankful for my tool but don't let anyone ever make you feel like you took the easy way. Because as God is my witness it is in no way easy. And you know what? at the end of the day I look around and find that no one is here anyway. The ones that make me feel that way are no where to be found. So you see they really don't care anyway. You have to do what is best for you and you have to look out and fight for YOU.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Have a great rest of the day!!!!!!
Truly,
Trina
Hi Melinda:
I have really missed you.... You know I like to keep up with your new life..... I saw you had fun on 1/2 price Goodwill Saturday too. I was at the one in Rivergate, can't believe we didn't run into each other. I looked through the stuff for hours and then had to wait another couple of hours to check out. Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration but that is how the check out line felt. People in the lines in front of me kept asking other people to save their spots in line so they could go smoke. They would go smoke for half an hour come back and the line never moved. While I was in Goodwill Kevin called and asked me where I was and I told him Goodwill and he said that is where you were this morning, where are you at now.... I just laughed and said Goodwill...
Don't forget we have a coffee date soon. Well I am drinking Hot Tea. I am on this Hot Tea kick.. Can't seem to get enough. I stay cold all the time and the one thing that seems to help is hot tea. I love Green Tea and Ginger Tea.......
My goodness,! What time did you go to Goodwill? We got there about 9:15, and left approximately 10:30 ... or so says Tim... I had 3 people in front of me at the register, and the lady was so slow! I took all the clothes off hangers when i got up there, and tried to expedite the process as much as possible... I kept looking at belts, the stuff in the bin next to the register, peering over to the movies wondering if I could actually READ anything that far away, was there something I saw that I needed or wanted?! lol
I wanted to go to Hendersonville's but didn't get around to it. I found some great stuff at Franklin's Goodwill on Sunday afternoon though. They have nice stuff, but again you have to look. The blue tags were 99 cents.
I LOVE FINDING A BARGAIN!
