My Disability is thru Health Springs. They are a#*holes. I ask for them to give me the criteria for banding or bypass. they tell me it is up to their medical director. I ask them to tell me the name of the Doctors that take Health Springs in network. They can't find any and out of network is out of the question. I AM HOT! With this crud that I am tring to get over, I can't go for a walk or go to the Ymca for a swim. Sorry to lay all this on youall. I guess I am venting.

Phil,

Is there a number you can call the insurance directly.  Just don't let this little obstacle make you stop your journey.

And remember it is always fine for you to come here and vent, that is what a support group is all about.

Phil, you just go ahead and vent, that is why we are here. Call them back, ask them to speak to the representative for WLS. Then have he/she e-mail you the requirments for the WLS and the one that they recommend. Don't give up, that is the worse thing you can do, I know. Show them that you have another shoulder and it is bigger!!!! group hugBarb

I agree!!  We are here for you, but you can also check with each clinic in the area to see if they take Healthsprings as well!!! Don't give up, one thing we have seen here is that insurance does not like to pay to make you healthy!!!

Phil, I know exactly what you mean about Healthspring!! My husband is on disability and this year since everything changed with them I took him off and put him on my insurance well the SS board typed in the wrong date and all h$$$ has broken loose. Healthspring has pulled all the money from all the doctors & hospitals my husband has ever been to since 2003 and now all of them are sending me bills stating that Healthspring said he was not insured at that time. Healthspring actually went back further than the SS dept did (SS only typed the date in as of 4/1/07) HS went back to 2003. SS finally got it straightened up but HS kept sending us stuff and said that was too bad basically that they had a right to do it. So I finally had to call them and tell them I would be talking to my attorney and calling News Channel 5 to come down and investigate how they do their accounting practices. So finally the next day they called me and told me it would be taken care of, but in the mean time I had to pay out of pocket for 2 months for my husbands medicine because they would not approve it. Sorry to rant but they make me so MAD, I know how you feel, do whatever you have to do to get them to approve this.

Have you thought about sending your request in writing via registered mail? Then they cannot say they did not receive it! Bonnie in Knoxville 264/155
